My re-finance

I contacted Lendng Tree on 9/13/09. Matt Settles of Aasent Mortage e-mailed me immediately. Since I work full time I had listed e-mail or call in the evenings. He was spot on. We never even spoke on the phone and I closed my re-finance on 9/29/09 !!! Unbelievable!! Matt was knowledgeable, pleasant and a pleasure to work with.

Totally Satisfied

In a word my experience with Wesley Boyd of Aasent Mortgage Corporation can be summed up as 'excellent'. Wesley knew what drove rates in the mortgage market and was patient, keeping me regularly updated on the market as I waited several months until the rate I was seeking came available. Unlike many mortgage brokers who are pushy and give you an unsavory feeling, Wesley was very competent and professional. He was upfront on costs and fees, which turned out to be very competitive. Once I decided to proceed he steered the entire process to completion in a very timely manner. It was obvious to me that the rest of Aasent operates like a well oiled machine....everything that was promised was delivered on time, on budget, and with no undesireable surprises. Superlatives like 'excellent' are often overused....but in my experience this is a fitting description of my refinancing experience with Wesley Boyd and Aasent Mortgage Corporation.

Extremely Disappointing

I was disappointed with the overall Lending Tree experience. Upon entering the requested information, I immediately received very appealing quotes -- outstanding rates and very good closing costs. When I contacted the respondents, some of them never returned my calls and emails. I selected my lender based on the rate - which, incidentally, was 0.5% higher than the online quote (incidentally, so were all of the others) - and the fact that the loan officer was the most willing to answer my questions and walk me through the process. As helpful as the lender was, every time I turned around, my closing costs increased. Worse, though,was the experience with the closing. The lender called me at noon and told the closing was that evening. I told him that I already had plans, and he told me that I had to do the closing that day, because it had already been arranged. As a result, I had to change my plans around to facilitate the closing, only to find out that, contrary to what the lender told me, my spouse was required to be present (her name was not on the loan, but it was on the title), The lender then asked me to track her down to get the papers signed. When I told him that wasn't possible, we rescheduled for the following afternoon, requiring me to take time off of work. As I was driving home the next day to do the closing, I got a call from the closing firm, asking me when the closing was supposed to happen -- the lender never contacted them about the new closing time, and were never sent the updated paperwork. We then had to reschedule the closing again, for later that evening, requiring both my wife and me to reschedule our plans. We finally got the loan closed. Needless to say, I was extremely annoyed at the lender, as well as the overall Lending Tree experience, and I won't be using the service again.

Review of Aasent Mortgage Corp.

My experience of refinancing with Aasent Mortgage with an extremely positive one. I worked with a mortgage broker who was very personable, who explained each part of the process to me, and, overall, made the often complicated process as pleasant and efficient as possible. Everything went smoothly from beginning to end. The mortgage broker kept in constant contact with me from the very first, with phone calls and e-mails, so that I was not kept wondering what was happening with my application. I would highly recommend Aasent Mortgage Corp. to anyone who is considering refinancing in the near future.

Very Pleased

"This is my fifth time financing or refinancing a house in this country. Except for one, all other experiences had been positive, but none like this one. In my chasing low rates for a rather unusual loan (10 ARM I/O), I received enormous help in the form of advice and palettes of rates as a function of locking period and points needed to achieve the targeted interest rate I wanted. I am fairly savvy, but I learned so much more this time around than any other refinance I have completed in the past. Jared Thiele from aasent was always there, by phone or e-mail, or both, until after the deal was closed. Others may advertise good rates. Here you get them, AND THE SERVICE, which is so important when making decisions which involve such large sums. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to do anything with their mortgage. You feel like with Jared you are making a friend, and you probably are."

Above and Beyond!

Aasent had excellent rates and they were willing to take us on as clients when a lot of other places said we were 2 points shy of a credit score they preferred! In particular, our lender, Chris Davis, did everything he could to help us feel comfortable buying our first place! Out of 20 companies that found us through lending tree, Chris with Aasent was the ONLY one to write and call us directly instead of sending us an automated message. He helped my husband by checking his credit score and helping him up his score so that we could get a loan instead of just of just refusing to help us because we weren't up to a normal standard. Mr. Davis answered calls after hours anytime we needed help and went above and beyond what most lenders would do for a young family buying their first home. Thanks Aasent and thanks Chris Davis! :D

Exceptional Customer Service

Even though my needs and Aasent's product offerings didn't ultimately align, Michelle Rucker of Aasent proved to be a true advisor. She made additional recommendations and avenues I could pursue to meet my needs, which was, in my opinion, over and above what most other lenders would have done. I will recommend Aasent and Michelle Rucker to friends and family, as I have found a trustworthy partner.
