Excellent and Thorough

Brooke Golden with Great Western was able to help me refinance on my home and was able to do it before the end of the year. She was courteous and patient as she answered all my questions over a period of 3 weeks. This is an excellent mortgage company with great people and low closing costs.

GWFS - Doug Bloomer

Great experience. Doug and GWFS were professional, patient, and thorough. I had other lenders that were pests from moment I filed with LendingTree. I ended up going with GWFS because they had competetive rates, and were very responsive to my initial questions via the phone. I am a little old fashioned, and the idea of running a major transaction like this completely via the internet was a little scary. I have had a couple of questions post closing, and I am still receiving the same level of service as I did during the process, which I think says a lot about their commitment.

Great Job by Great Western

Kai Chandler and his team at Great Western were outstanding from start to finish or our recent refinancing. He was able to fix a very low rate one hour before the rates started their recent upward climb. Kai called throughout the process, responded to every question that I asked, and was able to handle keeping the house in our trust rather than going through the normal two-step process. The title company used by Great Western was quite helpful and the signing was all done at our home. The origination fee never changed one dollar from the initial quote and the other closing costs were reasonable and explained fully. The final closing costs were even a little less than originally estimated as Great Western passed the savings on the appraisal to us. We have done several purchases and refinancings over the years. Working with Kai and Great Western was the smoothest and best explained process we've ever gone through. Kai was a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend Great Western. Prior to going with Great Western, I read the reviews of all five lenders suggested by Lending Tree. Though Great Western's closing costs were a bit higher than others, its rate was excellent and virtually every review on the site about them was full of praise. Now, I know why, and I am pleased to join all the other fully satisfied customers.

Great service!!!

After struggling with another lender who kept us hanging on for 4 months until they declined us, we took a stab at what the lenders from Lending Tree might be able to do. Within minutes, Great Western's Kevin Babb was in touch with us by e-mail. We started this in mid-October, and Kevin went the extra mile for us guaranteeing us we would close this loan. After we made a silly mistake (that delayed the process a day or so) Kevin helped us clear it up, and our loan came through as he said at the beginning of December. Kevin is awesome, and Great Western came through remarkably!! Thank you Kevin for your dedication to answering late night phone calls and e-mails.

Satisfied by the Service

I am not one to give testimonials but I will gladly provide an unsolicited testimony for Great Western Financial Services. They were not my first choice, but my first choice fizzled out once my good-but-not-very good credit was run. Shane Dishman was a stalwart throughout the process--he helped me to avoid PMI and even dropped the rate by a another quarter-point when the markets turned favorable for borrowers. Sure there is alot of documentation, but the closers who were provided did a fine job and Shane walked me through the entire process with incredible patience and professionalism. I would gladly recommend this company to anyone whom the Lending Tree mothership assigns.

Very pleased with Great Western

Brooke Golden was very responsive and gave great, informed advice regarding the direction of rates and when to lock. Obviously this was all an educated guess, but she turned out to be right on target with her advice. There were really no hiccups at all throughout underwriting, closing, and funding of this refinance. I'm very satisfied that I was able to meet my goal of locking in a historically low fixed rate and converting from a 30-year to a 15-year loan while still having a manageable monthly payment. The title company Brooke chose was also very responsive, and I was able to close at my home at a time that was convenient for me. I highly recommend Brooke Golden at Great Western.

very satisfied

I dragged my feet on refinancing for months because I didn't get a good feeling about the financial institutions and people I spoke with. Even with Lending Tree I was barraged by the "sale" of the loan from the individual lenders who phoned and emailed me ad nauseaum. However, there was one lender and individual who stood out amongst the many offers which came in. Joshua Mann at Great Western never pushed. After all the other lenders wore themselves out with trying to convince me of their great rates, Joshua Mann remained and was always polite and subtle, sending me emails and encouraging comments. I finally contacted him when the rates drop so low I knew we had to act. It was the best decision we made! It was like separating the wheat from the chaff. He was patient, personable, extremely knowledgeable, kind, and most of all helpful. He walked me through the enire process start to finish and I felt like he held my hand the whole way through. I never doubted I was in the hands of an expert. He really helped us get a great rate, as well as helping us with our property assessment, retrieving old closing statements from a different state, and if that weren't enough we even closed the deal in our home sitting at our kitchen table on a Friday night! I would highly recommend Mr. Mann is you are in doubt, confused, or have concerns about your refinancing. He really knows his stuff, was honest, and went above and beyond what I could have ever expected! We are entirely satisfied.

hew refinance

I had an overall great nexperience with Kevin and Great West. He was very professional and responsive to all my questions and concerns. He also made recommendations/different proposals, etc. that he tought would be beneficial to me and my lifestyle. The rate and terms were great. The end result was a product that met all my expectations. I would recmmend Kevin and Great West to my friends and family for their refinancing process.

Worked Hard to Seal the Deal

I had Kevin Babb as my loan consultant. He worked hard to compete with my other lender's offers, and eventually was able to come within a few dollars of theirs. Overall a fairly good experience. Would recommend.

Be careful when doing a refi- esp. with GWFS!

Ken Vo with GWFS was very helpful and responsive... at first. Right up until we submitted our refi. application and paid $375 for an appraisal. It didn't come back at the value we were hoping for, and his response was basically that we were out of luck, and $375 poorer with nothing to show for it. He didn't do any up-front work to ensure that we'd be able to do some kind of refi even if the appraisal came in lower, nor did he explore other options/programs after telling us the bad news. He just moved on to other customers... :-( So lesson learned- be sure that you have enough equity BEFORE applying for a refi and paying for an appraisal, esp. if you're going to deal with GWFS.
