simple!

Working with LSI and Michael MaCintosh was a great experience. We refinanced and got a very competitive rate. Everything was done very quickly and efficiently allowing us to close in two weeks.

LSI is a very good option.

I cannot speak for all agents of LSI, but the agent that was assigned to my loan, Chris George, was a very knowledgeable, courteous, and responsive individual. Several of the things I was looking for in a lender were: Rate, Fees, Time to Close, honesty, patience, and flexibility. I am a very cautious spender and especially with a 30 year commitment and the biggest purchase a person can make, this was going to take time and a lot of explanation. I know that many of the questions I had may have been standard and tedious, but the agent was very polite and understanding, no matter what the question or how many times it was asked. There were discrepancies in early documentation that had me shaken and wary, but I found this with most of the lenders that I was reviewing at the time. My suggestion to anyone is that you be aware of your agreements, expectations, where these figures should show up and what the bottom line document and figures are that must be correct and supercede all. This company was careful, persistent for the business, but not bothersome or annoying. Several of the lenders I was reviewing had attitudes as if to suggest that if you weren't in the business, you wouldn't understand the numbers and you should just trust them. LSI did not take that route and were rewarded for it with our business. There are a loan brokerage firm, so more than likely your loan will be sold to a bank and you should read your closing documents carefully. This can be said with all contract though. The relationship with LSI was a pleasant experience and I will definitely look to them again if I ever decide to submit another refinance OR for a new home purchase. My next journey is to see if the bank that purchased my loan, Flagstar Mortgage, is as reputable and customer service oriented as the broker.

Issue resolved - Thank you Tony and Dave

After closing my loan in May 2011 it was discovered that my homeowners insurance for the current year was not included in my funding request and/or closing documents. I attmepted to resolve the issue with my new lender where I encountered a lack of interest in resolving the issue. I was very upset and very disappointed. I contacted Tony Bigford at LSI about the issue. He started work immediately on the issue and then phoned back the next day to tell me that the oversight occurred prior to closing and that I would need to pay my own insurance until my policy renews in October 2011 at which time the new lender would pick up the annualized cost of my policy. I do understand that mistakes happen and I do appreciate that Tony, and now Dave, CEO of LSI, have called to confirm the understanding. LSI is a reputable mortgage company that does have the best interest of their customers at heart. Thank you Tony and Dave. Your research, results and advice are greatly appreciated. I highly recommend LSI and once again thank them for their great customer service.

GREAT SERVICE

Tony Bigford was a trmendous help throughout my loan process, He was what I want out of a Loan Officer, quick, polite, dedicated to getting you the best deal out there, and thorough, not pushy or hap hazzard. Tony was a pleasure and great to work with and I would strongly recomend him to anyone I know looking to get a loan for whatever reason. If I ever have any other needs for a loan, Tony will be the one I call.

A horrible company

Make sure you get everything in writing with this company We decided to go with LSI. I don't think we ever received a straight answer from them. After being offered a very good rate of 4.25%, we were told at the last minute that all the banks decided to turn us down but there was on bank that would accept the mortgage but we would have to accept the same rate we had with our current mortgage. We were told not to wory though, that the day after we closed we could lock in the original rate. It has been over a month and they have been playing games everytime I ask them about the better rate. I even told them to lock in a rate and one point between 4.375% and 4.50% and they claim they never agreed. I have the emails to prove we asked them to lock in the rate and showed them to them to jog their memory, but they don't seem to care about that little bit of proof. I would run away as fast as you can from this company.

Waiting

Overall Eric Swan did a ok job, all though the big thing were he told me is I would get a lower rate in 4 months, was not the truth. The big part I would would tell anyone is, if they tell you they will get you the rate they promised you in 4 months. don't believe it. If your happy with the rate you close on , know thats what it will be. They seem to tell you a lower rate just to get you to sign with them, then change things as you go. I was told all kinds of things about the market being tough and a lot of companies don't care how good your credit is. The big thing I was promised by LSI was I would get the lower rate in 4 months and they would keep in touch with me up till that point. After the loan I never heard from them again. I emailed back in 4 months like they said and was told sorry rates have gone up, even though Lending Tree advertised lower rates than when I first got my loan. So over 14 years at $100 extra per month do the math that over 14k extra. So Before you go with this company make sure the rate they quote is what you get.

Going nowhere

LSI although they promised that they could meet my closing date, which I asked upfront we are now 22 days over the May 27, 2011 target closing date. And soon will be 24 days. I would not use this company ever again and I will be very happy when they sell the paper. I would suspect that once the Underwriters get the paper work that they would ask all the questions necessary upfront to clear to close the loan. But, NO. Every time their questions were answered and it went back to the UW they came back with more questions. This has happened at least 6 times and each time it take them 48 hours to review. Now come on, what kind of UW department is this. As you probably can tell I am very upset with these people and would never use or recommend to anyone. I can tell you this much. If you are looking for a mortgage make sure you have 3 or 4 companies processing your loan. I know it is a lot of work but I think the competition makes the process complete much faster. I picked one company out of 6 and went with them. Sad to say it was LSI
