Great Rate But Pain In The Rear

The rate we got was really good. But there were huge hassels during much of the time we dealth with Magnifund. I filled out info on-line for Lending Tree and I got a call from an agent at Magnifund. He was very pleasant and informative. But as the process continued over several months there were repeated issues. At times the paperwork had errors or files were missing key components. Also, tasks that were targetted to be completed on a given date were sometimes delayed as much as a week. By the end, the lending agent would not speak to our realtor. So I had to communicate all conversations and paperwork between the two. Our realtor said we were going to lose the house so he called Magnifund and spoke to the lending agent's manager. After that the lending agent refused to answer phone calls or emails. He stated that once the realtor went over his head he stepped away from the entire process. For me as a first-time home buyer it was very difficult to have to mediate between the lender and realty agents. As I said, the rate they gave us on a 30 year fixed mortgage was better than we could get elsewhere and without paying points. But the process was so difficult that I many times considered just paying the extra money and dealing with a local bank for the loan. Great rate but beyond belief how bad the customer service was and the extra aggrivation made the stressful experience of home buying even harder.

Refreshing

I was introduced to Tom Schmit through the Lending Tree website – out of the 4 others who contacted me, Tom was easily the most knowledgeable and the most engaging. After speaking with him for the first time I understood that his expertise in the financial industry was going to be a huge asset along this home-buying journey; the way in which he distilled that information to the average Joe (me) was also refreshing. He was obviously the right guy for the job. After months of searching (and regular “check up” calls from Tom) my fiancé and I had finally found The One – the home that we fell in love with. Through the roller coaster ride of the purchasing process, Tom was there every step of the way – his grace under pressure and meticulous attention to detail allowed us to close on time. Magnifund’s low rates helped us secure an affordable fixed-term loan that will enable us to remain homeowners through good times and bad times. Tom’s integrity and easy-to-work-with character endeared him to our realtor team as well – they thoroughly appreciated his timely responses and industry knowledge; it seems consummate professionals recognize one another. I would certainly recommend Tom to anyone searching for the right Mortgage Planning Specialist; in fact, I’ve already recommended him to several of our close friends.

I'd use them again.

Kelly and Mark did an excellent job with my loan--which was on a short sale purchase. They were responsive, professional, and highly competent. I'd use them again, or send a friend their way. The rate was 1/8th higher than I could have received at my credit union; however, there were upsides to the loan they could package--including a lower down payment, and the ability to cover the mortgage insurance on the loan with a one time fee, rather than a monthly payment. (That saved some dollars). The escrow officer made one error on the HUD at the 11th hour, but they got the right fix in place within 2 hours. They do good work.

Magnifund Group Review

Magnifund Group was able to complete a loan financing structure that was very difficult and complex with many moving parts to it. Our representative Dana did not give up even when the deal seemed impossible to complete. If we every decided to re-fi, I would definitely try and get Dana again as our account representative.

Exceeded Expectations

I came to Magnifund with a special situation. Kelly and Mark worked with me through the processes. Advised me of my options and kept all communication open notifying me of any issues along the way. I had a wonderful experience with Magnifund. I am a happy ower of a home!

Brett Korf

Brett Korf from Magnifund group was such a big help to us. He was always available and called us immediately to up date use on any issues or news about our home loan. He worked diligently to get us the best rate and did! After our loan was complete and I had to contact him several times to answer some question he responded immediately. He always made us feel like we were his most important clients.

Dana Osborne is the best

I was especially impressed and appreciative of the personal service and unlimited patience that Dana provided at every step of the process. He very thoroughly explained everything in such a way that allowed for a full understanding, rather than as a means to consummate a sale. As a first time home buyer, this was a HUGE factor in turning what could have been an extremely stressful process into a manageable and understandable one. I would highly recommend Magnifund Group and Dana Osborne in particular.

Magnifund goes above and beyond

My home purchase wouldn't have been possible without the service I received from Magnifund. Dana Osborne, my mortgage broker, was fast to respond to my questions and helped me work through a lot of issues that appeared along the way. Without his guidance and quick responses, I would still be in the market for a home, rather than a first-time homebuyer. Based on my experience, you don't just get a mortgage broker with Magnifund, you get a friend and champion to help you along the way.

When i used the lending tree service to look for a mortgage, I wasn't actually looking for a mortgage yet. I was really just seeing if I was qualified because I had seen a house that I was considering trying to purchase. within 5 minutes of finishing my lending tree ap, Atrayon Trevino called me. Although I didn't qualify for a traditional loan, Tray explained in great detail the FHA program, and what I was qualified for there. When the home i wanted to purchase turned out to be a fixer, he patiently explained the rather arduous 203k fha rehab loan process. when the house i was considering started to look like a money pit, he helped me understand the risks involved. 3 months, 100 emails and 30 cell phone conversations later, I closed on another 203k property and am now happily renovating my own little piece of sonoma county, redwoods included. I can't thank Tray enough for all his help, and would recommend his services to anyone, especially the novice homebuyer.
