Very unhappy

It is my fault for not checking these reviews before I engaged in this mortgage process with Quicken Loans. I could have saved myself over 4 months of aggravation. The process is very efficient in the beginning, almost too efficient. The amount of paperwork was overwhelming and very repetitive. Then we began the maze of different people doing different steps and several times things were overlapping, but it appeared that one hand had no idea what the other hand was doing. Following the appraisal, we were told we needed a mold inspection which we had done in a very timely manner. Then weeks later we were told we needed a roof inspection-had we been told that at the outset, we could have had one inspection done for both things for one fee. The outcome is that we are NOT going with Quicken, but are looking to go with Acadia which ranked number 3 on the reviews on Lending Tree. Please, please, please stay away from Quicken Loans.

2nd time

My first loan went well, then they sold it and the transfer was trouble. The refinance 18 months later of the same home with Quicken was a nightmare. Nothing changed, my credit score, my income (actually went up) the appraisal, nothing changed and they were a nightmare. Same house, same owners, same everything and it was a nightmare. They called me to refinance, I was not looking to refinance and it was a nightmare. I am still waiting for my $500 deposit to come back. stay away.

Dont even try

Don't use Quicken they are not quick and they won't help you when you really need help. They don't say outright that they can't refinance you they just come up with an home assessment amount that is to high that you can't qualify. Don't waste your time!

Would NEVER recommend this institution and if the representative I has was any indication, they treat their clients like they are unknowledgable about money matters.

Connections

The only problem I had was when the loan moved from the loan officer to the processing department. At that point, I had several different people from different offices calling me asking for the same pieces of information and at one point the main processing person called me and began talking to me as if she had never spoken with me and didn't have all the information that I had already supplied two times before. It got straightened out and in the end wasn't that big of a deal but that transition of information could be smoother.

Quicken Loan

Corey at quicken was exactly what sold me on going with quicken. He knows his business, was forthright and treated me like a customer that he wanted for more than just this one sale. He wasnt arrogant or pushy like most others and he especially didnt hide behnd technology in the initial outreach to me. He kept it personal and warm instead of cold.

Great salesman ... no performance.

The telemarketer sounded great and talked a good talk, however after your $400 deposit you get handed over to an underwriting team that is slow and non-responsive. Stick to a local bank that you know and you will get a better deal.

Slow to close

Our banker, Sandra, was excellent - courteous and responsive. Always returned phone calls (email, not so much) and was "on our side." Our customer rep, Scott, was OK but did not seem up to speed on what was happening. The "closing team" (no names, no one to talk to directly) were awful. They kept asking for the same things over again, even after we had told them several times we were not able to provide exactly what they wanted. We had to Sandra involved many times to get things straight with them. They just seemed incompetent: e.g., hurricane Irene came through while we were waiting to close. At the last minute, after we had been told closing would take place within a couple of days, they decided they needed to send an assessor to determine if there was any hurricane damage (there wasn't). No one came, we had to call a couple more times, and were finally told they had done a drive-by assessment. Then they said they would close the following week (this was a Friday and we were going away overseas that weekend). More calls to Sandra, who knew our deadline, and finally, at 7pm Friday night, the closing agent came to our house. This was a lot more nerve-wracking than we needed. All told it was about 10 weeks from application to closing, which is not too bad except that we had told Sandra in the beginning that we were going overseas on a certain date and we needed to close well before then. I would recommend them to a friend with the caveat that you need to be on top of them constantly once you have your rate locked in and you have made any payments.

Nothing Special

Got the going market rate. Attentiveness of Quicken Loans leaves a lot to be desired. Hard to reach someone if you need a question answered. Be prepared to leave some messages for them if you go with them.

Although I did not go with the quote I recieved, I do want to share the fact that the person helping me, Dan Reynolds, was very helpful and informative.
