I communicated with several lenders before making the decision to go with RMCV. Ultimately my decision was based on Steven McGilbray's quick responsiveness to my questions (of which I had many) and his honesty and trustworthiness throughout the process. I never had to spend a whole lot of time concerned about anything because I could just shoot him an e-mail and get an answer within minutes. He was there with me throughout the process which took a lot of stress out of the purchase, and led to a smooth closing. I have already recommended Steven McGilbray and RMCV to others based on my experience.

Derek from RMC Vanguard did an amazing job helping us with our loan. We entered our information into Lending Tree on a Saturday night and he was the only lender who called us that night. He helped us to get pre-qualified very quickly which we needed to make an offer on the house. Derek is very responsive to questions and he made the entire process go very smoothly. We closed on time without any issues. He did a Great Job!

My Wife and I just closed on a short sale property that we found in May. Although I had contacted several lenders prior to our offer, the time between the offer and acceptance by the lien holders allowed me to work closely with the lenders and get a feel for how smooth the transaction would go. We chose to go with RMC Vanguard not only because they had one of the best rates, but also because Derek Bissen was extremely knowledgeable, dedicated and hard working and kept us informed every step of the way. When the lien holders finally accepted the offer, then Derek turned into superman and managed to get our loan processed and approved only 11 days after receiving written acceptance of our offer! Even our attorney was surprised by the speed of the loan process and he has been involved in approximately 40,000 real estate transactions. I really cannot describe how happy we are with Derek and RMCV...it was well beyond our expectations. Thank you!

My wife and I recently purchased our first home and everything went smoothly. The whole lending process was done conveniently through email and their electronic document signing program. They processed our loan quickly and we were well ahead of schedule for closing. Infact, our closing costs were actually slightly under what RMC had estimated.

Allison Coulter is truly 100% for her client. Jenny Restrepo also gets a big nod. This took about two weeks and was a far better and easier process than we imagined. She was constantly communicating with us about any details and changes and about the process as it moved a long. She always treated my questions of ignorance as her pleasure. She is profoundly patient. When there was a minor glitch in paperwork (not attributable to them, I add) she jumped on it immediately and kept me informed, seeing it through to correction and completion. My loan officer was great at selling RMC, and answering all my questions regarding the process; as well as alleviating my concerns about being taken advantage of because I was afraid something bad could happen. Well, it did. They missed their promised deadline and I was forced to pay penalties to the seller. Did they take responsibility; or even care? Not at all. I had to seek managers and outside intermediaries. They're process was so ridiculous that my agent and title officer (both with over 10 yrs experience) say they'd never seen it so bad from a lender..

I was led to believe that because of my good credit rating there would be no problem for me to secure an FHA loan. The person handling the loan assured me of this on more then one occasion even after knowing the reason I was turned down by major banks. He was able to produce a signed pre-approval letter which meant absoutly nothig. This whole venture with RMC Vanguard has cost me about $3,000.00 and so far I have not heard anything from them on getting my deposit back.....seems like as soon as they realized they made a mistake they dropped all communication. I don't believe there are any supervisors at the company either as no one is willing to help or answer questions. I would strongly urge you to NOT USE RMC VANGUARD as I found them not to be able to deliver on what they said they could and they even changed their story.
I am sorry about any situation that upsets a potential borrower. I have gone over this file with the loan officer. Based on information which we learned after application that the borrower had already been turned down at 3 other lenders, we should have made it clear that the borrower’s finance contingency date needed to be extended or that he should have exercised that option to not put his earnest money at risk. We have refunded the borrowers application fee in full, and I had previously talked to the borrower about this situation prior to his rating of us. He has since informed me that he is still working on getting his earnest money deposit back and we have received a request from another lender to transfer the HUD case # on this file which we have done. Time line is below. Feb 2011 Credit report pulled April 7 Thurs. RMCV provides prequalification letter based on verbal information to be verified and credit scores received April 9 Sat. Borrower signs contract to purchase home April 14 Fri. RMCV receives partial application (application, disclosures and some back up items) April 18 Mon. RMCV receives final supporting documentation April 20 Wed. Borrowers financing contingency due date in purchase contract expires April 25 Mon. Loan is denied by an RMCV underwriter. April 26 Tues - Loan Officer discusses options for possible family co signors and down payment assistance. RMCV submits loan directly to investor but loan is again denied.
