Great Overall Experience

Pros: attentive customer service, good rates, low fees, easy to work with Cons: small mistakes in the application I had a great experience with Southwest Direct Mortgage and my loan officer, Tim. Tim was very helpful and patient throughout the whole process. He provided great explanations and was always available. Anytime I called or e-mailed Tim, he usually responded within an hour. In addition, he was very accommodating. I preferred to send him files via encrypted archives over e-mail with a side-channel method for passwords. Even though he had no prior experience doing this, he was more than willing to try and do it that way. There were only two negatives. One was when it turned out the limit for the loan was lower than I was initially told. However, Tim was very responsive and tried to ensure that I received the best deal possible at the lower limit. The other is that on the loan application and lending documents, there were some mistakes that required going through and crossing out and initialing to correct them -- not a huge deal, but just time consuming. Overall, I had a very good experience with Tim's service and Southwest Direct Mortgage overall. Tim was on vacation for a little during the time I was looking for a home, and Mike was also incredibly responsive. I am certain to recommend them to my friends.

Great experience this far

My loan officer that I've been working with her name is Amy Trimble. She has been awesome with helping me with my first purchase on my new home. She's been helping me understand the process of it and is always up to date. She makes sure to check on me through the process which makes me feel like she cares about what she does and takes her time. I am looking forward to once I find that perfect home and go towards closing, I know Amy will be on top of it. I would recommend her to anyone that needs and wants someone that has skills, knowledgeable and cares about their clients needs and wants. That's a great characteristic in what I look for and that's what Amy Trimble has.

Amy Trimble is fantastic!

My home buying experience was AMAZING. Amy Trimble helped me through the whole process. She was super responsive to all my emails and spoke in terms that I could easily understand. She actually sends me hand-written cards on holidays even though we've now been in our home for 9 months. She is fantastic! I don't know that the whole mortgage experience could have been any better. I am super happy with Amy and will use her in all of my future home purchases.

Excellent Customer Service

I really enjoyed working with Tim Jaap. He was very knowledge and always quick to respond to questions, no matter what day of the week or time of day it was. SW Direct Mortgage's fees were quite reasonable and straightforward. I would use SW Direct Mortgage again in a second and have already recommend them and especially Tim Jaap several times.

Great Service

Our loan officer was Nancy Cohen. I highly recommend her and the work she did for us in refinancing our old mortgage. Nancy was extremely competent and amazingly responsive. She always kept us up-to-date about the status of our application and was able to quickly resolve a number of problems and potential roadblocks. At the start of the refi process I shopped around a bit before finally choosing Southwest. Not only was the loan rate very competitive but I was really impressed by Nancy's competence. The other thing that really impressed me was that Nancy did not push us to refinance, unlike one or two of the other companies I initially contacted. In fact, based on the initial rate Nancy was able to obtain for my loan, and after calculating old versus new monthly payments, Nancy told me it was not worth refinancing because my monthly savings would be so modest. This struck me as highly ethical, which has not typically been a characteristic of this industry. When the rates came down, I went straight to Nancy who did a great job. It was a pleasure to work with her.

Set expectations and delivered.

My wife and I were first time home buyers and we were very fortunate to work with Nancy. She worked very hard during the entire loan process and was VERY patient with our laundry list of questions and concerns. She educated us thoroughly and was eager to answer any questions, day and night. Some things that make Southwest mortgage and Nancy excellent are listed below. - Expectations: I cannot say enough about this, Nancy set expectations in terms of costs and then beat those expectations! (saved us quite a bit of money!) - Constant communication: Rarely was I unable to get a hold of Nancy even during weekends and evenings. - Knowledge. The folks at Southwest were very knowledge with conventional and non-conventional loans. - Ethical: You hear all kinds of stories of unsavory lenders, well, I really got to experience how southwest mortgage holds a their loan officers to a very high ethical standard. They truly put the customers interest first. At one point, it looked like we would go FHA and even with all the extra work on the lender’s side, there was not a hint of being swayed one way or another. There was no pressure of any sort and no negative tactics. In the end, my family had a very tight deadline to close by the end of the year and even with all the complications Nancy was able to deliver before New Year’s even. Also, southwest mortgage took a very stressful and convoluted process and streamlined it for us. I would highly recommend southwest for any first time home buyer.

Great service

Timothy Japp is the man! He was always there to answer my questions every step of the way. I don't think I ever had to wait for more than 1/2 hour to hear back from him. I switched up my loan halfway through the process, but Tim was more than willing to work with me.

Smooth Sailing

We shopped extensively for a lender--going so far as to compile a spreadsheet comparing pros and cons of 7 different companies. We chose SW Direct Mortgage because Nancy took the time to explain things the others could not or chose not to. She knew we were 'just shopping around' from the first time she contacted us, and had a 1 in 7 shot. But she didn't make promises just to sway us. In fact, several other lenders looked better on paper because everything had not been disclosed, and there there holes in our spreadsheet. It became clear when Nancy was brutally honest about regulations, laws, and processes that only their best features were disclosed. She ended our first conversation with, "Even if you don't choose to work with me, you can call me anytime during the process." At the time I thought it was a nice touch, but that she couldn't possibly mean it. However, looking back now I know she did. We were constantly amazed at her responsiveness at all times of the day and night. We were impressed with her knowledge, and happy with the personal touch she would add at just the right time. Her execution of the entire process was nothing less than remarkable. Our realtor was not excited about us not using a local lender, but at closing, he told the title company rep how impressed he was with Nancy. All of us in that room full of papers agreed that we'd refer Nancy and SW Direct Mortgage without hesitation! Overall, Nancy is a stellar representative of a company that has a solid reputation. Thank you for such a positive experience!

Best in the West!

SW Direct and Toimothy Jaap was the difference make rin our quest to take advantage of the poor economy. The arduous process of verififaction was mnade easier by the steady hand of Tomothy Japp and SW Direct. I would highly reccomend this lender.
