What inspires you about working at LendingTree?

The freedom that is given to be able to learn. I love being presented with problems and to be given the opportunity to simply learn what I need to do in order to solve the issue.

What is the ideal employee at LendingTree?

The ideal employee is a fun-loving problem solver that cares about the company and the people they serve.

If you could learn one random skill, what would you learn?

I am currently learning calligraphy and bookbinding, which is a lot of fun!

I could say that it was the pay and benefits, but truly it just felt right. After I came in for an interview, I really felt like this is where I needed to be.

How have you made an impact since you started at LendingTree?

One of the most noticeable things that I have done is start and run our Scholarship, which has been a huge success. We have had thousands of applicants over the past couple years and have received a lot of attention for our company and products through this program.

What song best describes your work ethic?

Weirdly, the only song I actually memorized the whole way through is Monster Mash. I don’t think it relates to work at all, but I did learn it for a play back in high school!

Which core principle do you see lived out in LendingTree every day?
LendingTree taught me to “Set Big Goals and Be Accountable.” I set the goal of making a career change from customer service to technology. I was able to remain accountable to my manager and my role in the Contact Center while also learning about technology, studying day and night. My accountability allowed me to achieve my goal and now here I am in QA! (See more!)

What made you decide to come work at LendingTree?
I was interested in the combination of Marketing and FinTech. FinTech can be a challenging space for new companies so I was encouraged to join a company that had many years of learnings but was still young enough to give new hires space to make a true business impact.

If you could learn one random skill, what would you learn?
I have to say I have always wanted to learn Underwater Basket weaving and pick up a new language like French.

What has been your most exciting experience at LendingTree so far?
Traveling to Charleston with my team to help setup/deploy new machines to a company we acquired.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your role at LendingTree?
The most rewarding part of my role is listening and engaging in feedback from our users. I enjoy reading our reviews and responding to customers. It’s good to hear what they like and even what they feel like we can improve upon.

Name three things you can’t live without.
Coconut water, coffee, and my iPhone (I guess I should say my husband & kids too)

What is the first song you would sing karaoke to?
Van Halen, Dreams. I’m terrified of karaoke but if I am in my car in traffic – I can really belt this song out!

What has been your most exciting experience at LendingTree so far?
Traveling to New York for the Product Festival – it was inspiring to hear from product managers from a diverse group of companies and to learn not just what they are working on but “how” they work within their teams.

The culture is everything. You can be yourself. Our CEO says it best. Treat this company as if you owned the place. We have the freedom to make our decisions. If you fail the first time do it again until you get it right.

Hyperthymesia. Possessing an extremely detailed autobiographical memory.

What has been your most exciting experience at LendingTree so far?
Going to my first town hall. I am always quick to share my excitement with people I meet outside of work and new people joining our team. You learn so much about the company and you get to see what everyone has done in their departments that contributed to our wins.

What would you do in the event of a zombie apocalypse?
I’d like to think I’d find a katana, build an army of other survivors and run the prison to keep the zombies out.

Kerry Washington. Why? Because I did a quiz online and that’s who it gave me.

What is one random skill you have learned?
I’ve always wanted to learn how to scuba dive and did it for the first time 2 years ago! Aquatic life is like a whole other world and would like to be a licensed scuba diver someday.

What made you decide to come work at LendingTree?
Initially I thought the idea of comparison shopping being applied to different lending verticals was a really cool idea, but after meeting with the tech team and learning about the culture and development process and the goals, it was an easy decision to make.

If you had a super power, what would it be?
Telekinesis, imagine not having to get up to grab the remote. Gamechanger.

What would you do in the event of a zombie apocalypse?
Convince them that I’ll be useful to them because I can entertain them with my bad jokes. Slowly become trustworthy and then eventually stir some drama and turn them against each other
