Chase Freedom® Bonus Categories in 2016
In case you're new to the Chase Freedom® card, here are the bonus categories for 2016. If you haven't gotten your card yet, the Chase Freedom® is a card worth considering, with a $150 sign up bonus when you spend $500 in the first three months, and lots of opportunities to earn even more cash back – like purchases in the categories below, it's one of the best cash back credit cards.

Spend a lot of money at Sam's Club, Costco, or BJ's? You'll want to use your Chase Freedom® for purchases made at these locations, as well as any dining out you do in the next few months.
The dates for activating your card for the 3rd quarter are: June 15, 2016 to September 14, 2016.
The quarter starts on July 1, 2016 and ends on September 30, 2016.

4th Quarter Bonus Categories

The dates for activating your card for the 4th quarter are: September 15, 2016 and ends on December 14, 2016.
The quarter starts on October 1, 2016 and ends on December 31, 2016.

Things to Remember
As a cardholder, you must activate spending bonuses each quarter. Activating the categories listed above prior to the deadline applies your bonus retroactively, so even if you forget initially, you can still get the full bonus points on the money you spend within a category for the entire quarter.
If you activate sometime after the start of a quarterly bonus, your statement will show the bonus prior to your activation separately. Bonuses are itemized by category.
- To take advantage of the full 5% cash back rebates, activate your card each quarter;
- Earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 through bonus categories each quarter;
- Earn 1% cash rebate on all of your other card purchases at all times;
- Earn a $150 Bonus after you spend $500 on purchases in your first three months from account opening;
- Cash Back rewards do not expire as long as your account is open;
- No annual fee.
