More On Business Acquisition

A business acquisition is a transaction in which a company buys most (if not all) of another company’s ownership stakes in order to assume control of that company.

The acquiring company might pay cash for the business it is purchasing, or it might pay the company in stock.

Business acquisitions are often part of a company’s growth strategy when it is more advantageous for a business to take over an existing company's operations rather than to expand its own. This typically results in quicker and more profitable growth for the business.
