Lender Reviewantonio from Ridgewood, NY
NOT RECOMMENDEDPlease save yourself the headaches and time wasting process!!! Look for a reputable company that will value your time. Look for someone that hires capable employees to process loans and everything that is inclusive of mortgage loan processing. Some people in this company are more than lazy and unprofessional. Some just don't care about your time. Some do both. AGAIN, spare the headaches!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL! Just horrible service from top to bottom. Not only do they hire people that have no clue about mortgage processing but they are incapable of processing/loading paperwork in their system... Read More

Watch the NumbersOn the plus side, AMB's customer service rep was highly motivated, responsive, and very quickly provided a Good Faith Estimate that I was able to use to negotiate with other lenders. AMB had an independent appraiser contact me very early in the process and I unexpectedly had to provide credit card info to her when she visited. Because everyone's rates started creeping upward and I couldn't find a comparable deal, I did refinance with AMB (which has an office near me, so I closed in person after doing everything else online) despite having to complain about things that they changed when they mailed me the Prevailing Rate Mortgage Loan Commitment. My existing mortgage only included escrow for taxes (not insurance) and the rep said that would be maintained; the Commitment stated otherwise. Although I ultimately prevailed on all three of these issues because I refused to return the Commitment until they corrected it, I was quite annoyed about these unannounced changes. At closing, I was told that the mortgage would be immediately transferred to one of the big commercial banks and indeed it was. So, I can't recommend AMB but the overall experience ended up being okay because I was careful about what I signed... Read More
