Will we make it to the finish line?

Additional commnets: We closed but have not settled. We are now 60+ days from the lock. FYI - they charge you $825 for escrow fees plus $125 for settlement. This is outrageously high. I now have another story regarding needed (or not needing) certified funds. Another confusing mess that wasn't necessary. In addition, yesterday was the settlement date and they called and asked for a wire 5 days afer they cashed the check I gave them already at closing. You will lucky to have any hair left if you choose these guys. Do not do it. Go with a local broker even if it costs you a little bit more. The small rate break really wasn't worth the headaches. Original Commnets: Results are yet to be seen. I great first contact with the Loan Officer. He provided immediate and detailed quotes. Once we started the application process, it was highly automated. You will not talk to people. I suppose that's OK for me, but maybe not for everyone. Rates appear to be very competitive so we will be satisfied if we get to the finish line. We are requesting a pretty simple refinance. Things moved along as long as we did our part. The appraisal was conducted. There seemed to be more requirements than you would expect and information requests keep trickling in. We are 38 days into the 45 day clock and we still haven't been moved to closing. I'm pretty concerned at this point and I've let them know. I feel like I'm having to push the process. There were some issues with a reorganzation by the lender that may have delayed things but that should be transparent to the customer. We have only 1 week to go and schedules are tight. I'm not sure I would recommend these folks. Standby, I'll let you know what happens. We either close and we're happy (enough), or we're looking at small claims court... Read More

    Great salespersons, worst overall experience

We had a great start; their sales team promising everything - everything at least as good as the competition. But their loan processing and underwriting departments - apparently don't know what all documents they need. Not in the beginning at least. And not intermittently when they keep asking for new documents every so often once you have provided them with what they asked earlier. Due to their negligence, my loan got delayed by well over a month and we received seller's warning letter. On top of this, Capwest added additional charges since the loan was not closed within the original timeframe. So I paid extra to Capwest (for their delays), I had to evacuate my home and stayed in hotels (additional expenditure), not to speak of the excessive inconvenience and never knowing when the loan will be closed. I'd recommend you to go to any local Mortgage Company - maybe someone that you can work with face-to-face at times. Don't go with Capwest; or else ensure you know and understand what you are signing (carefully read the electronically sent documents also) - and ensure they are accountable for any delays... Cash out re-fi

    (1) (0)
I was looking at getting a home equity line of credit with a bank but the rates were not favorable, there was a lot of unnecessary paperwork and in the end the only way you're going to pay off a HELOC is to refinance anyway. So I decided to re-fi and take cash out that way. It was so simple and was completed in 30 days. The rate was HALF of what the banks were offering for a HELOC. I would definitely recommend going this route. The Customer service and responsiveness from my Rep was immediate and accurate. I set myself up to be ready for an awful escrow time, because they can be and usually are, but was pleasantly surprised at how painless it was... Read More

    Great Experience!

Sarah K. made our experience easy and stress free. My wife and I were recently married and we decided to refinance our home and take out a little cash for home improvements. We originally applied with an another mortgage company only to find that the service was horrible. We had a deadline to meet so we decided to cut our losses and give Capwest a try hoping to have our loan processed quickly. In comes Sarah! She was friendly, knowledgable, answered all of my questions (which were many) and processed our paperwork lighting fast. She had our application submitted for processing and approval in a matter of days. She coordinated all of the details and made sure all requirements were communicated in a timely manner. She also kept us in the loop every step of the way and had us scheduled for closing in about 3 weeks! WOW. Sarah by far exceeded our expectations. Thank you Sarah and Capwest for an amazing loan experience! I will definitely recommend you to all of my friends and family... Read More

Jeff Young at CapWest was AWESOME to work with. I have had the BEST loan experience for my new home, and Jeff made all the difference in the world. He was always available, dependable, efficient, professional, knowledgeable, pleasant, and courteous. From day 1 when I applied for my home loan at CapWest until the very last day my loan funded, he was with me every step of the way. His response time to my inquiries and requests was incredible. I would definitely look Jeff up again for all of my future loans. THANKS A BUNCH, Jeff... Read More

    Excellent Customer Service

I chose CapWest because they had the lowest advertised rate and closing costs as I looked at mortgage re-fi's on the Costco web site. The lowest cost supplier is not always the best in service, but I was thrilled to find that Cap West was fantastic to work with. Rod Harrington was the agent I worked with and Rod was knowledgeable, very responsive, helpful and just a nice guy to work with. Everything was handled on-line or by phone. I would definitely say I had a great experience with CapWest... Read More

CapWest Mortgage is a delight to work with. Within less than a month from the date of our application, we received a check for our loan. This was due to the outstanding, efficient and courteous service by Kent Ewonus and Daniel Leathers. These two guys made us feel like we were only client, answering all questions, guiding us to the application process and keeping in personal touch with us all the way till closing day. I actually feel like I have two new friends in these fellas. They are a delight to work with and they thew know their business. I can't thank them enough nor recommend them higher... Read More
