Easy after we figured out what was wrong.

Had a good experience after they figured out that I made an error on the application. Approved within an hour once rectified. Finance balance on a new car purchase.

    Best rate and experience

I am one of those people that rarely write reviews but couldn't do this after my great experience. I applied in the evening on a Monday and was advised that I would hear the next business day once underwriting was in the office. I would say by 9 am the next morning I had my approval for a used unsecured auto loan for 1.74%!!! That is an amazing rate and I know being an underwriter for consumer loans myself! The process was simple and I had my money by Wednesday morning with no extra fees. I couldn't even get as good of a rate or customer service from the bank I work at (and underwriters who sit right next to me) if I had tried. For information purposes I had no car loans at the time, small credit card balances (always paid in full but balance always showing as constantly using) 750-780 credit score, two first mortgage loans, 1 home equity term loan. Guessing that debt to income was around 40% as I am not sure what credit card payments showed. About 20k liquid assets and 50k in 401k assets, 32 years of age... Read More

Quick and fast service. Bad loan approval.

Applied for a line of credit for home improvement. My first time through, I was counter offered a little less amount with a higher rate but still acceptable amount. Filled out the additional information only to get denied. I called the company and they claimed it was because I was claiming supplemental income through renting my unit out for a year, and explained that I had to use only the months between then and when my tax return was filed. No problem I figure, I'll just go back into my account and make that change. Only problem was, I couldn't get to that screen on my account. Customer service rep explains I need to create an entirely new account, fill out all the information and reapply. I go ahead and do all of the process again, only to get denied yet again. This time around, it's because, according to them, I was delinquent on credit card payments. Keep in mind, I had a credit score of 771 and out of 660 credit card payments, I missed two years ago. Really? That's .003% of bad payment history. Oh well. At least they denied me fast. (By the way, the zip code input is broken, and would not accept any zip code in Florida. I'm in 33414)... Almost too good to be true

Now granted, I have excellent credit (800+) and the amount wasn't a crazy amount, but from the time I clicked submit on my application and uploaded the required paycheck/pay sheet documentation, my approval was approved in about 2.5 hours. Then I decided to change the original terms (from 48m/$40K to 60m/$35K) and that took a bit less. You pick they payment date you want to start the AutoPay deduction and that's it. Cash wired to your account next business day - which means you have an added bonus of the registration starting off "clean" with no lien having to be registered. It could not be any easier. Even if I wanted to find something that I didn't like about it - I can't honestly say that I can. I didn't see a phone number to call anyone, but they were very responsive when I sent in an e-mail asking how long it would take to make a determination on the new terms (I sent the e-mail at the 1:50 hour mark, and got a response 2 minutes later that it was already approved). Very impressive. I even pointed some friends their way who were looking for similar financing options. All that leaves now is waiting to see how the whole AutoPay process works and hopes that goes without issues. The only thing that might explain some of these terrible reviews is that Lightstream offers $100 if not completely satisfied. Thus far, I will not be able to take them up on their offer... Read More

    Amazing then bad customer service!

My husband and I initially applied for a $100,000 loan and it was a great experience. Application process was easy, the associates were pleasant that we spoke to and the money was funded within a few days. Since our initial experience was so easy, when we needed another loan for $35,000 we applied with Lightstream again. The application process was very easy, they actually had most of our information from the first loan already stored. The problem came when we were asked to call back to answer some questions. The associate asked why we were applying again and why we didn't just take out a HELOC since we had so much equity in our home. She said the rates would be better. Our credit scores are 820+ so rates would have been comparable with out all the fees the bank would have charged. I explained to her that the process was so simple the first time we didn't want to hassle with all the paperwork associated with a bank loan. Isn't that part of Lightstreams whole advertisment that it's so simple! Ultimately I thought she was very rude! She made me feel inferior that we were even asking for this loan. First loan was amazing, second loan we will go elsewhere because of a very rude associate... Read More

    utterly disappointed

Total waste of time, credit score above 700, over 100,000 in home equity, 163,500 in checking account, 401k (26k), 19% DTI and annual salary over 130,000 a year. Requesting mid 20k loan, 60 months term but shockingly surprised that i was denied. I was never asked to verify any of the information on the loan application only a late mortgage payment in 2014 and not forgetting to mention that I've owned the home since 2011. I've satisfied two car loans since 2001 both totaling 108 months term without ever being late and all credit cards have a zero balance. I'm fortunate to have enough liquid cash in my personal account to purchase my first dream Classic car but i didn't want to fork out that much cash at one time... Read More

    2012 Ram 3500 refinance

    (1) (2)
After reading the reviews , I am certainly passing on this Lightstream auto lender. Twice the paperwork ,documents etc bla bla. Ridiculous. Many people have simuliar conditions as myself. Looking to refinance my 2012 Ram 3500 quad cab Laramie 4x4 with 18k miles. Still books at over $46000.00. I only owe $20-21000.00. More than double value virus's loan ( total no brainer can't loose offer to lend however with my score at 610 and self employed ,I can just imagine the foolishness to only be rejected with such a sweet collateral investment. Guess I will continue shopping lenders. Lightstream quated me a rate of 1.9% for 48 months. Ha ha. Thanks for the reviews. Prevented another lengthy disappointment. ... Read More

    Fantastic Experience!

LightStream was amazing to work with and I have already recommended them to friends and family. They make the process incredibly easy and their rates are great. Their lending is unsecured, so you do need to have a good credit score, good repay history, and verifiable income. LightStream's customer service was efficient and friendly and navigating their site was incredibly easy. The entire application process to funding and now repay is streamlined and simple. I read all the fine print and they truly offer a simple interest loan with no prepayment penalties and their rates are very competitive. They made consolidating my credit card debt painless and I have the peace of mind knowing that I will be able to pay off this loan in 3 years and my interest has been cut in half! I will be thinking of LightStream first the next time I need a loan... Read More

    Worse loan application experience

    (1) (0)
I applied for a personal loan. My original request was declined and I was offered a counter offer. The counter offer required that I provide additional documentation, which I did. After submitting the documentation, I received a denial stating that the information on my application could not be verified. I contacted customer service; which by the way their phone number is not even listed on the denial notice. Customer Service person informed me that my loan was denied because the salary I provided on my application and the amount on the pay stub did not exactly match. I do not remember my exact salary amount so I usually round it off. At the time I completed my application my pay stub was not available to me. Additionally, my credit score is 776 and I have an income which is over $60,000... Read More
