    worst service ever

    (19) (1)
WORST SERVICE EVER. My experience with Nationstar has been nothing short of horrible. They make it next to impossible to reach anyone on the phone. When you do make it to an actual human being, the likelihood of clear, efficient and effective communication is very low. Expect to wade through long, irrelevant messages, be misrouted, put on hold or cut off repeatedly. Don't expect to be given the option to talk to a human being: they make this very difficult. If you use email, expect to wait several days for a reply. Do not expect that it will take fewer than three different people to find the answer to your questions. When my loan was transferred, Nationstar made several costly errors on my escrow account, failing to tell me that they would no longer make payments on lease rent due on the property (a payment that had been paid for 15 years on the original mortgage) AND failing to include the insurance payment. If I had not caught these errors in time, I would have incurred late fees and lost coverage on insurance. In fairness to the individuals I spoke to (four today, during a 90 minute call, most of it spent waiting or being transferred), they seem to be doing their best. But the system as a whole is the worst I have ever experienced. Customer service is very clearly a low priority for this company. This is the first time I have ever bothered to write a review, much less a negative one. But this company really fails to deliver the minimum level of service... Read More

    Overall Poor!

    (28) (3)
This is my eighth home purchase in 10-years, two properties I paid cash and the rest has mortgages, my experience with NationStar was by far the most unprofessional and difficult. My credit score is near 800, I hold assets in excess of $475k (not liquid, hence the mortgage) & they had me jump through hoops throughout the process. They were unresponsive to my requests until it escalated and my closing was 12-days late. I would not recommend them to anyone, in fact, I would caution anyone considering them for their mortgage... Use Caution

I have nothing but praise for Joe Destasio and his professionalism and honesty. His subordinates, however, are the reason for the low customer service scores. If Joe Destasio handles your loan, consider yourself in very good hands.

    Stay on top of them

Unfortunately, they work with appraisers who are not familiar with the area in which I live. As a result, an absurd appraisal came back which triggered a different rate. Also, I got about 30 mins notice that mortgage was ready to close otherwise would have to pay fee of $1000 to extend the rate lock. Prior to that, I was told it was "in process", "sometime next week". Took alot of threatening to take my business elsewhere to get these charges waived. Great rate, though. Nice people. Just stay on top of them. Not too different than any other bank I've had to deal with... Read More

    NationStar Rocks

Just a short note, no hoopla or ribbons. NationStar was great. Period. Use them. Found me an amazing deal just as I had hoped for, they did the digging, I did the signing and it was done in 15 days! Again....use them.
