    Great rate

Excellent rate. Response over email was great but I would have liked contact or response over phone. I felt that phone response could have been quicker. However, we refinanced our house real fast with a great rate.

Great Customer Service and a great rate!

Sweetwater Mortgage did a great job with my refinance loan. I got a 15year fixed rate of 3.75%. I was very pleased at how Jim Norris updated us everyday to let us know the status of our loan. The process took longer than I expected, but it worked out great in the long run because we lower rate than we were initially told. Overall, I had a great experience and would definately recommend Sweetwater mortgage to my friends, family, or anyone else looking for a home loan... Read More

    Sweet and Sour

My dealings with Sweetwater started sweet but left me sour. I spoke with Jim Norris the owner of Sweetwater over e-mail a couple of times before deciding to work with this company. His responses were quick and helpful to a point. I was told I could not be given a good faith estimate until I locked in one of their great low rates by paying the initial credit review fee of $35, which I did. When the good faith estimate came back it showed $5,600 in fees, some mandatory and some related to processing. Regardless, I decided their fees were too high and informed Jim Norris that I would be going with a different lender. I then received a condescending e-mail from him that inferred I should not have locked with them if I did not intend to proceed and that I should proceed even if I found a better deal elsewhere. WRONG JIM! I am sure these folks are quick and efficient, but I would do your homework before going with them. Sometimes the sweet isn't so sweet... Read More

We are a Christian company which means we truly care about all of our customers, so if I came across 'condescending' I apologize. I was simply trying to inform this borrower that by breaking his lock, there would be serious negative consequences to our company (because it jeopardizes our company's relationship with the investor that we locked him with). I was hoping that in light of this information he would change his mind. Also his closing costs were not $5600, but instead were $4065. I hope he knows this because I worked very hard to make the closing costs clear. As a matter of fact , if he really thought his closing costs were $5600 then I understand why he chose to NOT honor his lock because that would mean I did not honor my word. But the truth is we as a company would NEVER do that. We are committed to honoring the initial rate and closing costs that we promise our borrowers. I still hold out hope that this customer will honor his lock. If he does there will be no hard feelings but instead I will be highly impressed by his integrity during an age when everyone else seems to only live for themselves. But the decision is his and we wish him the best regardless. God bless! Jim Norris President Sweetwater Mortgage Company

    Jerry in Houston

My re-fi was an awesome experience. Very professional and very straight forward. I have recommended them to one friend and will do it again if I hear that anyone is looking to re-finance.

    Sweetwater is sweet

Getting a mortgage might be painful, but with Sweetwater it was a SWEET experience for us, even from the very beginning, where we could not imagine just a couple of emails and phone calls a week would finally realize our dream home.

    Home Refinance

Lender had good rates and average closing costs. They only seemed to be reachable on email, and they communicate in very brief email messages. This is fine for most communication, but at times this became tedious because not enough detail was provided. Howver they were very quick to respond to emails at all hours. Overall it was a good experience, they could just use some improvements in comunication... Read More

    Went smooth.

Sweetwater gave me the lowest mortgage quote and the lowest fees. Michele Bost was responsive and timely. Everything went smoothly and quickly. Overall a good experience.

    Excellent Service

Sweetwater Mortgage provided excellent customer care and very quick response times. Email messages were responded to almost immediately, and whenever questions arose Michelle Bost (my loan agent) was right on top of answering or finding answers for me. Sweetwater Mortgage also provided the best rates for investment property mortgages, and did not offset the low rates by inflating closing costs and fees. I highly recommend Sweetwater Mortgage... Successful Refinance

I recently refinanced my primary residence through Sweetwater Mortgage. The purpose for the refinance was to reduce my interest rate from 5.875% to 4.25% and reduce the term from 21 years remaining to 15. I did not take any equity out of the house, and the house has a value greater than 2x the amount of the mortgage. I also have a credit score of about 800. It took about 6 weeks from my first contact with Lending Tree until I closed, which seemed like a long time to me considering my situation. This could be in part because the time period spanned Thanksgiving and New Years, but I'm not sure. By comparison, my daughter just bought a house in Lubbock and she made an offer on the house on December 9th and closed on the 28th without having any pre-approved financing in place. I was amazed by the amount of information requested by Sweetwater. Perhaps it's a sign of the times. They even sent me an e-mail asking for more info while I was at the table with the Notary signing the papers. Nevertheless, I was happy with my overall experience with Lending Tree and with Sweetwater Mortgage and would recommend this approach to anyone... Read More
