    uncaring

    Very uncaring people. Will not work with you when you need assistance. Very cold. They used to be wonderful in the 80s. We used them and recommended them for years until they changed.

    Burned by Wells Fargo

    I have been a Wells Fargo for 20 years. I needed a home equity loan. They were all smiles and, yes, sir we can approve your loan in 24 hours. 24 hours became 3 days. Then came the demand for more tax returns, more W2s, more pay stubs. I showed them assets worth $1.5M. They turned me did with a one line e-mail. "Application denied". Avoid Wells Fargo like the plague.

    Terrible across the board

    We had a 1st mortgage with WF for many years. Frankly the worst bank I have ever dealt with bar none. Fees on top of fees; $10 fee to cash a check my wife wrote on her WF acct to to me (I don't have a WF acct.) so a $25 check netted me 15 bucks? Rude employees; our hazard insurance lapsed somehow due to an error; WF kindly stepped in and charged us $4000/yr for a policy that others charge 900$. We didn't even know they had done it until we refinanced to get away from them. Horribly expensive. Will NEVER EVER use them again.

    HELOC

    Would NEVER recommend Wells Fargo for a HELOC. was told 30 days or less and took 70 days. Our Credit scores were in the 800's and no debt, good jobs, house appraised well above the amount we wanted to borrow against our equity. Representative would not return calls, I had to call and talk to different reps at Wells Fargo to try to find out what the hold ups were, they kept stringing along saying it would be done within a week and that week turned into 2 months. Once paid off will never bank with them again, been a loyal customer with wells fargo for 10+ years and what a horrible experience it has been trying to obtain a loan from them.

    Terrible Communication and Excessive Scrutiny

    Things were moving right along with my loan. I had provided all of the documentation and I was receiving calls from the lending officer every few days. Since I have a lot of equity in my home (74% loan to value with no second mortgage) I was assured that the process would be smooth. However, the extent of the documentation the officer asked for was no less than a new home purchase! I was already invested in the process so I complied and sent everything they asked for. This week I was told on Monday that the loan would probably be approved any day, and then received a call late Friday afternoon saying that it appeared that my husband's income was off. He is a retired Lt Col with Air Force and makes exactly what I quoted to the officer during our first conversation. Now the lender is being evasive and I can't get a returned phone call. Our credit scores are both in the high 700s/low 800s. I am very proud of our credit history and don't appreciate the lack of communication or excess scrutiny. I am confident we will qualify for a HELOC and after seeing other reviews I have to agree that Wells Fargo has earned its low ratings.

    Poor Customer Service & Incorrect Appraisal

    Yes, I recommend this lender

    The so called direct number can never reach the assigned customer representative. The appraisal report is sloppy and way under-value of my home.

    very polite and professional...

    Yes, I recommend this lender

    not obnoxious like some of the other companies calling my phone repeatedly. I spoke to Chris and told him I had already talked to some other lenders about my situation. He clarified the info was correct and stated he would like to send his contact info to my email just in case I had any questions in the future. He ASKED if he could send his info and I said yes. If I decide to do something in the future, this is the first person I will most likely call. He was also local and from a bank and seemed to know his business.

    Kristofer Syevens: Great offer and service

    Yes, I recommend this lender

    Way to be attentive and provide an exception attention and service that wasn't expected on a Saturday with an already busy schedule Kristofer Syevens!. Great offer and customer service, but slightly higher fees. Not by much though, however, was really looking for to differentiate in terms of rate and fees. The other loan company ultimately chosen had a leg-up in terms of prior relationship with us and terms where slightly better. Bit of a high hurdle so not a negative for Kris.
