    Excellent customer service

    Being a first time homeowner I knew nothing about the buying process but Mr. Majul from Nationwide Home Lending patiently addressed all my concerns making himself available. Everytime I had a doubt or I encountered a problem in my search for a house Mr. Majul always answered as soon as possible and made sure I had the information needed. I really liked the customer service because not only they explained me what I needed to do but also gave very helpful recommendations in what to ask. I choose this company because they offered their services and understood I just wanted information at the beginning, other companies just focused on letting you know they had a lot of experience and wanted to make you sign papers or trick you in to committing with them instead of addressing your concerns. At the end I got an excellent rate, the process was fast and smooth and I was able to close sooner than expected. The title company and the seller were amazed on how fast this lender had everything ready. I will definitely recommend this lender specially Mr. Majul because he has a lot of experience and that means a better deal for you.

    I would NOT do it again!

    Although in the end we saved a ton of money by refinancing our house I would never go through nationwide again. We chose this company because of their good ratings and low closing costs, the process was a complete nightmare. On at least three occasions we nearly backed out because of the hassle. Our represenative from the company seemed confused and couldn't remember conversations from one day to the next. Countless times we had to resend paperwork that she "could not find". At the last minute, the day before scheduled close, I was told that we would need to brink 3K of additional monies to closing. When I inquired as to why I was told it was because I had a reduction in salary, she was looking at the WRONG FILE! Our closing was delayed three times and when if finally happened the notary they sent to handle the closing didn't even bring her notary stamp! I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone!!

    A complete disaster

    The title says it all. I believe I lost a chance to refinance at a good rate due to incompetence (I wasn't informed of DTI issues early on, selection of an overly restrictive or inflexible underwriter) and/or unfair practices (using non-standard technicalities to deny my loan at the lock rate due to an increase in market rates). I am now out $375 for an appraisal I have no use for, and a $50 fee and the opportunity to refinance at an acceptable rate. The mortgage broker (Nationwide Home Lending) did not honor the interest lock rate for a refinance (they increased it by 0.25%). The rationale used was a failure to meet a Debt-To-Income (DTI) ratio of 25%. The DTI criteria used was much below the industry standard DTI ratio of 36%. The lock rate duration was 40 days. I was not informed of any issues with the DTI until 26 days into the lock. The broker and its chosen underwriter showed little interest in helping me meet (I was within 1% of the "criteria") the restrictive DTI although I proposed many solutions that would have met it. So what I learned about this company is despite excellent credit ratings (all > 770) and providing all the information needed upfront, if the interest rate goes up too much during the process your lock rate is not worth a darn.

    Overall, very pleased!

    This would have been a really good and easy experience if it hadn't been that my loan rep left the company very suddenly over the holiday period and I wasn't notified. I finally got concerned that the loan I had in process wasn't being worked, and called the company. As soon as they heard from me, they transferred my loan work to a higher-up, and from then on, everything went smoothly, except for not receiving the closing docs 24 hours prior to closing. This meant I went downtown on a Friday morning, only to have my closing reset for the following Monday. However, the closing itself went very well. I am very happy overall with the results of my refinance - the glitches I mentioned were quickly rectified by the company and they worked hard to get things done as smoothly as possible.

    Absolutely Awesome Experience

    Every segment of the process went smoothly. Initial contact was swift. The Closing Agent and his assistant were timely and knowledgeable. The entire refinance was completed in less than one month, and we got the 3.75% interest rate as advertised. Thank-you.

    Too easy

    Yes, I recommend this lender

    Great experience with Nationwide. I worked primarily with a guy named David Fisher, who took the time explain the ins and outs of refinancing and kept in close contact with me regarding rate changes and required documents. Closed 3 weeks after I locked the rate and never got the feeling I was anything but the top priority. Closing costs were very competitive. Except for a miscommunication (rather a misunderstanding on my part) about my previous escrow account, there were no surprises. I'd recommend this company to anyone. David Fisher is the king of rock n' roll. And his partner Joe Saucedo is the godfather of soul. Couldn't be happier. F'real.

    superb service

    Nationwide (Rick Wade) was truly a pleasure to do business with. Very professional conduct with a personal touch. My wife and I felt at ease with the entire process from start to finish. We have had many mortgages during our 46 years of marriage but none that were as painless and worry free as this one. Thanks Rick and Liesel for a great job!

    Find another company

    Picked Nationwide to refinance with; what a mistake. My wife and I have excellent credit, 60% equity in our house, and more money in savings than what the mortgage was for. I provided all the information, heard nothing for a week, then they had many questions about my savings, etc., that could have been easily asked at the beginning. I provided all the information again...still more questions and then the person I was dealing with goes on vacation. Nothing happens for another week or so and then I get an email from the guy aplogizing that the rate lock expired and the best he could do was a half point higher than he originally quoted. No thanks. All in all, this was the worst experience I've had dealing with any company in a long while. Lack of care plus incompetence. You can do much better elsewhere.

    Outstanding Service

    Rick Wade from Nationwide was outstanding to work with. He called me 2 min. after I filled out the survey on Lending Tree and was able to lock a 3.5% 15-yr. VA loan that day even though rates were repricing and none of the other lenders contacting me felt 3.5% was still doable. Before I moved forward, I contacted my current mortgage holder and after a 20-min. wait on hold was told the best I'd ever get would be 4.175%. This was a fully documented loan and I'm a small business owner which meant a little more underwriter due diligence than usual, but Rick and Nationwide had us cleared to close within 14 days (and that time period included Thanksgiving). We actually moved up our estimated close date by three days. Rick set reasonable expectations in explaining how the approval process would work, was proactive in keeping the process moving and delivered what he promised. It has been the easiest loan process I've ever been through and I highly recommend both Rick and Nationwide. I'm very glad I visited Lending Tree.

    Would use again and recommend to friends

    Brian and his team were great from the start. Spent the time to make sure I understood the process and details. Had the lowest rate that no one else could match. Kept the process moving and resolved any questions or issues immediately. From the Lending Tree request to closing on my refi was a total of 35 days. Awesome!
