Great rate, but bait and switch fees
The beginning of the process with gorefime was nice to refi my vehicle. My representative was responsive and didn't beat around the bush. They had the best rate among about 4 others. They were quick to send me the documents and quick to answer any questions I had. I don't appreciate the fee that they charge, most other refi companies do not charge fees. They sold me on the gap insurance, which I need, and that's where I am the most upset. They charged me $595 for gap insurance. I would have gone through my insurance, but they don't offer it on used vehicles. Come to find out, gap insurance, through the same lender that they approved me with, was half the price. I was not given this information to weigh the options. Actually, my representative stated that she didn't know the exact price in the beginning of the process because she had to find out who the lender was, making me assume that the gap insurance was through the lender. I found out that the gap insurance I bought through gorefime was not the same product that the lender uses. I was duped so they could get more money. I called to cancel my gap insurance through gorefime so I could get it elsewhere, but they wouldn't redo the loan so it wouldn't change my payment, they would just take it off of what I owe on the backend. Shame on me for not doing more research.
