Good rate- poor representatives
Rate Genius did a good job on the rate but when it comes to customer service, theya re terrible. There were too many people involved and no one knew what the other one was doing. They messed up the title documents and tried to blame me then I had to spend a lot of time trying to fix it. The employees do not seem knowledgeable and one of them even tried to blame me for the fact she sent the title to the wrong place. I would not use them again at all.

cost too much for someone with good credit
didn't get far enough past fees of over $400 to start and request for GAP coverage. Also didn't need 10,000 or more and it is a minimum.

Left Hanging
i recieved an add in the mail for rategenius and i applied from my cell phone, never expecting to get approved. the next day i received a phone call from rategenius, they had a few additional questions for me to complete my application. they told me it would be a few days before i would get a response. 2 hours later i had a voicemail from Rick saying i had been approved. so i called back right away! Rick was very helpful, well-spoken, knowledgable. he gave me his cell phone number to call on the weekend if i had any questions, and assured me as soon as i sent the paperwork in, i'd have my car paid off by the end of the week. TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE?? i think so. i signed my paperwork 2/8/13. i missed a few signatures so i had to mail back a few things, so i would completly done by 2/12/13. i waited about a week and i called Rick back to check on the status, and he said it was being processed. i explained my car payment was due on the 26th and i did not want to be late. he told me not to pay it because it would most deff be paid off by then. so i was a little worried but no big deal.i received something in the mail saying as of 2/22/13 the paperwork had been completed. well.... here we are 3/5/13 and i get a phone call from my old leinholder saying i am 7 days late on my payments, they need a payment now. so i explained that i re-financed. they said they had not received anything. i called Rick back and he said he was not sure but he would email someone and let me know but the check was probably just sitting there waiting for the leinholder to cash, "those big companys do that alot." i get an email with a UPS tracking number and the package still had not been delivered!! 2 weeks after it should have been DONE!! UPS posted that it would be delivered 3/5/12 by the end of the day. i checked, it had not been. i sent my buddy Rick a quick text asking him what was going on, his response was "i dont know, i just fowarded you the email i didnt read it." i guess he wasnt in the mood to help since he had already got his bonus right?! i called rategenius today in the morning, 3/6/13, and spoke to a supervisor Joe, who was great. he called UPS and they determined the package has been lost. i asked Joe, what if i would not have been pressing this issue, who double checks on the status of the checks for payoffs, or does anyone even care. he said he did not have answers for me, and RATEGENIUS cannot tell me when they payment will reach its destination. soo im sitting here with a late payment about to go on my credit record. rategenius is ruining my credit!! im so very upset, this is not the way to treat your customers.i will put another post as soon as i figure out whats going on. maybe i need to investigate on my own.

Not what we expected
We emailed them and they called us back. We spent @ least 20 minutes relaying info and was told we'd here back the next day. Not a word! So after thanksgiving we give them a call and they can't help us. What? We were surposed to get something in the mail, still waiting. Disapointing!

Auto Refinance
A waste of time. Made all kinds of false promises about getting great rates, but none came close to what I already had on the vehicle. Never got back to me with any offers on the Lending Tree site. I got the info by calling them. Nonsense!
