Protracted process, ended up with fees from the lessor
Overall the process was fine. However, it took a very long time to close, with documents having to be redone multiple times. The instructions were not super clear and each time they asked for new docs, I had to get the hard copies to a UPS store. I started the process on 10/15 and it closed on 11/22. I think docs had to be resent 5 times. I ended up owing more than $100 in lease fees because it did not close before the lease ended. I asked if the company could help me with the fees and they refused. Like another customer reports: the rate was good, but don't expect it to close quickly.

Definitely bait and switch
They told me it would be 6 percent but approved me for a higher rate. I was not offered extended warranty and I had to submit paperwork 4 times. I was not pleased and though they found a lender, I’m not happy with the results at all. Just be careful before you let them run your credit.

Terrible Process, Good Result
The entire process felt like I was getting scammed, from sloppy paperwork, "system errors," many things recorded incorrectly, and most items going unexplained. Then there was the multiple times I was asked to sign documents, and when the link was followed there would be no documents to sign. Then the guy I was talking to would tell me to make sure I was using Chrome (as if I didn't understand the first time he explained it to me to use Chrome) then I would magically get an email sent right after the one telling me to use Chrome, and it would have the documents. The only reason I continued through the process was because I had read reviews that explained my exact situation, but all being resolved eventually. And it all was resolved eventually, and my interest rate is much better than before refinancing. Maybe my loan officer was incompetent, and had I been assigned to someone else, the process would have been more professional.

Prepayment
Although the process went smoothly it was not clearly explained (or mentioned at all) that paying off early would actually cost more. You’re paying the computed interest regardless of when you decide to pay off the loan. Buyer beware I guess. Beyond that no complaints.

At the beginning of every refinance, we ask our customers whether they are primarily motivated by a lower payment or a lower interest rate. Most of the time, customers who need to lower their payment are pleased to receive a loan that might result in a slightly longer payoff, as it helps them in the present. I got a lower rate but took 8 hard hits to my credit report, one Credit Union hit my report 3 TIMES. They need to make that VERY CLEAR so consumers know up front their process. I won't use them again or recommend them.

Any time you're shopping for credit, each lending institution will pull your credit. However, there's good news - multiple credit pulls for the same type of credit within a short period of time will only count as one on your credit report. Even when it's from different institutions, only the first pull will count. This might take a few weeks to reflect on your credit report and credit score, though. Mixed feelings
The refinancing process was easy, but they tend to be borderline pushy with the over abundance of text and email. Even once the process is over.... at least 4 reminder emails to review them. After deleting 3 I thought it would be clear I wasn't interested..... the additional ones led to this 2 star review

Expected better
Relentless phone calls, texts, and emails from multiple companies for my business, for a week. Closing documents sent within a week after, wasn’t disclosed all costs before, asked for income/employment verification after documents were returned signed and notarized (which they lied about the request in the documents). Payoff was delayed 2 weeks after they verified receipt of income and employment verification, resulting in a short payoff. I had to make an additional payment to my previous loan holder to finalize the payoff. Two stars for lower rate.

Never again.
I was asked multiple times to resubmit paperwork that I'd already done (somethings 3 times). No one seemed to connect with each other and share information or correct things that were not correct. Once I'd been approved and contacted them with some additional questions I never heard a word back. They ignored multiple emails and texts. Never did get called back. Did not inform me that I could get a refund on my GAP insurance (found that out through another loan company). Things were not explained well. Too much a rush rush deal. Would not refinance through then again. Communication is terrible with Rategenius.

Poor service
When using this service you get a loan officer that is completely overloaded with the amount of loans each of them have to process. So if you need to talk to them quickly it is nearly impossible, which is irritating when you are dealing with something that is time sensitive. They did however get me a refinanced loan in the end.

At first my customer service rep was extremely helpful and responsive. I was originally told that the process should take two weeks. Then she disappeared for a week. After a week of non-responsiveness she said she had been out sick and that we could wrap the process up that week. Another week was spent submitting more documentation, and then my service rep disappeared for another week, this time for jury duty. Over a month into the process I then received an email saying that everything was finished, but now i needed to pay $250 because my payoff amount had changed. My payoff amount changed because my rep missed the window for payoff because she was non responsive. Rate genius is good at finding you a lender, but terrible at the follow up and communication. I still haven't finished the process and am now considering tossing in the towel
