Ghosted me after taking all my info and running a credit report.
When Charlie Wong of Assent Mortgage cold called me, I immediately warned him that although I had excellent credit and plenty of assets, my case was not typical as I am retired and too young to receive Social Security so I don't have regular income to show.
Charlie Wong told me it wasn't a problem and assured me that we could do an asset-based underwriting and that based on the numbers that I had given him we should be able to do a no-cost refinancing.
So I filled in the forms and sent him statements showing 30% more assets than what we had discussed and authorized him to run a credit check which they did.
The credit report should have come back essentially perfect as my various banks and credit cards assure me that my FICO credit score is 850 out of a possible maximum of 850 and other scores are similarly very high. I don't know what number they got as they didn't send me the copy that they are legally required to. I know they ran a hard credit report because I received warning from the various institution that monitor such things.
I have not heard from them since they ran my credit, they have not returned my calls nor my emails.
Avoid this company at all cost, if you don't want your credit to be needlessly impacted.
Dave from Ziplend by Assent called me and when I informed him I had already chosen a lender, he did not handle it gracefully. When I hung up on his rudeness, he called back to continue insulting me. I then asked for his superior's contact info and it was his turn to hang up.
