Not a great experience for first-time homebuyers
We are first-time home buyers, and so much of this process was new to us. Out mortgage loan broker was friendly and available -- however not informative on some points. (A typical answer that we received to some questions was "this is common to the industry.") We were asked on more than one occasion to sign documents containing a known error. Also, it made us uneasy to send documentation that was needed in the process--personal documents--through unsecured email.
One thing that was especially nerve-wracking, though this was not necessarily the fault of Insight Loans but the lender that had been chosen for us (we don't know) was to be asked to send difficult-to-obtain documents the same day that they were requested. A couple of days' heads up might have been helpful, rather than a last-minute "please send today the following documents..." Overall, not a very pleasant experience, though we did close on time and our mortgage broker was friendly.
