Good experience, easy process, underwriting took too long
Lower made the process super easy and clear and had a great advisor (Kyle Stroschen) assigned to my application. Their rates were awesome and the offer they gave me was phenomenal, however, after getting the application submitted the underwriting process went from an expectation of maybe 1-2 weeks to more like 3-4 months which did not work with my timeline so I had to ultimately go elsewhere. If they can get their underwriting time down, I think lower would be unstoppable.
Review for my advisor: I worked with Kyle in June/July for a HELOC application and he was absolutely wonderful. He answered all of my questions, was quick to respond to any inquiry regardless of when I made it, and was super patient when I would get busy and have to miss our agreed upon meetings/deadlines. I did end up going with another lender, but not due to anything Kyle did or was in control over. I would absolutely recommend Kyle to anyone looking for a lender and would happily work with him again given the opportunity.
Mike Reeves was great loan advisor; the rest of process not great
Mike Reeves was the best part of our experience with Low**.com* He was extremely responsive and made sure we were always informed on what was happening with the loan process. He explained the loan products thoroughly and did not make us feel rushed to make a decision or when asking questions. He was always kind and caring. He was amazingly prompt with his responses to my emails and always provided the information I needed. Excellent customer service and an overall great person to work with!
The underwriting process was the worst I have ever been through. It was extremely slow and frustrating. Mike did the best he could, and that was the saving grace for us.

Low**.com (and Kyle) are great at closing, but Lower's followup is ABSOLUTELY OBNOXIOUS!
Kyle (and his associates) made closing easy. Unfortunately, Low**.com's admin arm spoiled the process for us by REPEATEDLY (sending more than THIRTY) solicitations attempting to sell us something other than a loan closing! Those 30 combined voice calls/ emails/ text messages AND USPS DIRECT MAILS to my wife and I were attempting to sell us mortgage insurance. The clear implication of their messaging was that we urgently needed to respond to their harassment or dire things would happen! B U L L H O C K E Y!
Finally tired of the repeated sales pitches, I answered one of their salesperson's phone calls. I asked that we be DELETED from their mortgage insurance database. I made it clear that when we received the next solicitation, I would begin revising my prior reviews of Low**.com.
This repeated solicitation bombardment was not disclosed at any point during the closing process, is thoroughly obnoxious, and casts a dark pallor over the company and its employees.
I can only hope that the USPS mail solicitation my wife received today is the last! Each new harassment will be treated as another abrogation of the implied agreement that mortgage origination ALONE is all for which we had contracted.
