Steer Clear of this Company

Magnolia bank is one of the most unprofessional mortgage company I have ever dealt with.  I have been a real estate agent for almost 15 years and I have worked with lenders all over the country and this one was by far the worst experience I have ever had.  Jackson Chesley, one of the managers, has no idea what customer service is and does not care about the client or getting the job completed at all.  My father was using a lender at this company and this individual stated he was going to lock his rate at 2.75% January 23rd and when we were about to close, the manager Ryan, called him and stated the rate was not locked and now rates went up and they could not complete the transaction.  Once I inquired why the rate was not locked as it was stated in January, I received no reply or explanation as to what happened and he stated there was nothing they could do.  There was no communication prior to the phone call stating there was nothing they could do since the rate was never locked.  I would NEVER recommend this company.  Seriously absolutely no customer service, there was never an apology and no attempt to try and rectify the situation.  Steer clear of this company.  I wish I could leave a negative star.

Fabulous service

One is always Leary when dealing with someone we don’t know and online. Jake from Magnolia was always responsive to our calls and never misled us which set our minds at ease. We had issues with our loan due to the fires in California in our county that caused it to be suspended. Immediately after the VA lifted its restraints, Jake got our loan closed in a week at the same lock rate as before. Closing was simple with a notary in our home and couldn’t have been less stressful. I would not hesitate to recommend them to my family and friends. A service. Thank you Jake S. and team.

Not Impressed

My wife and I were referred to Magnolia Bank, and at first very pleased with the process. The process started out smooth, and we expected an early closing, however, this changed due to several unforeseen delays with third party documentation.
We were okay with the closing delay, and pretty flexible, but we were not impressed by the lack of communication during this time. We reached out to Matt because we wanted to verify that all documentation was approved on our part, and verify that Magnolia Bank did not need assistance on the remaining third party documentation. Matt was not helpful in providing any clarification or update. His overall attitude was arrogant, and not one that we care to work with again.
I’m sure many of the Magnolia Bank employees are hard working and great at their job. They deserve to have a manager who prioritized their loans and treats their borrowers, buyers, realtors, etc. with respect.

Knowledgeable and Organized Process

Not sure about any reviews saying they were pushy, not at all with us. We had to move very quickly and required more documentation than normal. Still closed on time and had no issues. Very organized.

Tadd is on top of things!

I couldn't have worked with anyone better than Tadd. Given our situation, my wife and I were on a short time constraint for buying our house, so I knew we were asking a lot of Tadd to be able to make that work. Tadd made it seemingly effortless from our side. His responses were quick, he was always ready to answer the phone if I had questions, and he was great at explaining every aspect of the process that I found a bit confusing. If Tadd could make our situation go as easy and smooth as it had, even with our tight time constraints, I'd imagine he could manage any situation.
