Whatever you do don't use this company. There are better companies out there with lower rates. I am the most patient guy in the world. I never complain about companies. But, this has been by far my worst possible experience.
I had a Home Equity Line of Credit that was coming due October 25, 2020. So, I thought it would be good to refinance my mortgage and payoff the Home Equity Line of Credit at the same time.
I applied for a mortgage with Quicken August 17, 2020. As of today, they have not closed the mortgage. This means that the HELOC that was due is now past due 30 days. It has hit my credit and I now cannot get another mortgage until I pay off the HELOC. I needed to apply for a hardship adjustment from my credit union so that they will push out the due date on the HELOC. Unless they grant this, I will remain in default on my HELOC with no way to refinance. I am up to date on interest payments on the HELOC and my credit score was 780 before this happened. But now, because of Quicken's incompetence, I am stuck.
I talked to Quicken numerous times. I had a Customer Service Representative that I spoke with routinely from August 17 to the present. Other than lying to me, it did nothing. So, I started calling their processing department. They again assured me the loan would close in October then in November. Both were lies. They dragged their feet each time such that they would request payoff letters from both my HELOC lender and then my mortgage lender. Then, they would say that the letters expired. We're talking twice. Once in October. Once in November. I am besides myself. The fact that they could not make a few phone calls and get things done timely has damaged my credit. I have lost all trust in this company. And frankly, I don't believe they should be in business. Their actions should violate some professional code of ethics.
After all this, I asked for them to make this right. They offered me a $500 credit for damaging my credit. I found this insulting based upon what they put me through. I found that outher lenders were offering rates 0.375% lower than these guys were giving me. These guys are awful. It is because of this, that I felt I could not go forward with these guys and that I needed to put the word out as much as I can about how bad these guys really are.
Extremely Aggressive Sales Tactic
They called me the second I submitted my information for refi into lendingtree. The loan officer was extremely aggressive, immediately demanding my personal information such as social security, date of birth, etc. I didn't give him these info, and he wouldn't give me a quote. All the other lenders on this platform were able to give me a quote based on the general info I provide them over the phone, such as income, debt, FICO score, etc.
They are too aggressive
I did not end of using Quicken Loans for my refinance. The main reason I am writing this review is because I am hoping they change their tactics. They are much too aggressive in trying to get you to work with them. I was getting constant calls from them (4 times in a day sometimes). They called more times than the other lenders from Lending Tree combined.
