The refinancing transaction with JJ was a fair/poor experience.

In the initial interview, JJ had a very kind disposition. On a daily basis and even throughout the same day, JJ would request loan documentation. Said documentation should have been required at the beginning of the loan approval process - I always satisfied his requests immediately. To this day, he does not communicate well i.e., during the loan approval process, JJ would promise to contact me with information updates - I always had to reach out and contact JJ. He continually had an excuse as to why he didn't contact me in the first place; but, dissatisfaction with JJ came after the loan transaction was approved, closed and he received his monies. I tried reaching out to JJ via many emails, texts and telephoning with questions I needed answered after said closing. Three and a half months have past since my loan closed and JJ, to this day, does not have the courtesy or professionalism to contact me. Royal United's Accounting Department is a disappointment, as well. No communication! I can honestly admit to all potential clients, it is absolutely a necessity to do a background check on Royal United and their customer's experiences. I can only wonder if all reviews are posted!

Failure to communicate

Everything was decent about the timeline of the loan process, just the lack of communication from the employees when we needed questions answered. A poor job of responding to emails, text messages, and voice mails. Left us feeling anxious and frustrated during a very important process in our life. We felt like the sense of urgency they applied to us for giving them information was sadly not returned when we requested information of our own. If this one aspect was fix it would’ve been a great experience, but sadly this experience would prevent me from working with this company again.

A trying experience.

I found my overall experience in obtaining this loan very trying. The loan officer was excellent, as was the individual who handled the process once the loan officer was finished. However, the Underwriter, or perhaps the Underwriting department in general, I felt was unnecessarily picayunish and failed to look at my overall qualifications for a loan. Further, after I responded to one inquiry the Underwriter came back again and again wanting another thing or sometimes two or three things after the initial approval. It would seem reasonable to me that an experienced and professional underwriter could sort out quickly and in one stroke, possibly two strokes, what was needed to complete the needed documentation. Instead, he, or they, came back repeatedly until I lost track of the requests and the experience has left such a bad taste in my mouth that I do not wish to go go back and count them.
