Overall good experience
I was most impressed w/ Customer Service. If I had a question via email or telephone, they were immediately able to address it within the hour. The person I dealt with was excellent. He thoroughly answered all my questions and helped me prepare for what was expected and next steps. The fees & closing costs were higher than anticipated, but worth it in the end. I received a good rate, but different than expected, given prior committments from the lender. Overall - the rate was still a good one & I'm happy with the overall experience.
Very Positive Experience
Although, my experience with SurePoint was brief it was extremely positive. When I submitted my LendingTree application, Brandon Bawcom was the first to respond. Brandon was very professional. Our initial conversation was absolutely two-way. Brandon spent a lot of time listening and asking me questions about my refinance objectives, then worked up a competitive refinance plan that reflected exactly what I wanted to accomplish. I ended up going to another lender only because the lender was local and in this tough economic environment I want to support the local Houston economy. Because of Brandon Bawcom, SurePoint was a close second. If Brandon calls in response to your LendingTree application, consider yourself lucky. My impression is that he'll work hard to help meet your financing needs.
Surepoint was the first one in to call. They called as soon as I submitted the request for quotes; however, they were not accurate on their information right at front. These people claim to be a lending bank with their own capital, but they are mortgage brokers. The person contacting me was very pushy and was not accurate with his information. I do not know if they see you as a person not knowledgable on the subject and try to redifine the mortgage terminology (i.e., lock in rate). I did do business with them, but I do not think I would do it again. I know that they are in a very competitive business; still, they have to be as accurate as possible on the information they provide to their costumers.
