Not for me
To be honest my credit rating is not the best but they were willing to work with me. I was told I would be called or contacted every 2-3 days. I raised my scores an average of 30 points over the month the lender would never know because I never heard from them again. I emailed several times and called and got voicemail. I went with another lender outside lending tree and am getting ready to close on a house. I would avoid this company at all costs.

responded the same day with a phone call but after going over the loan for 45min i could not get a good faith quote until i filled out paper work. all i wanted was a number to compare with others.

Quick negative response
I was surprise how fast I got a phone call from IFreedom, but asked one question about my home being a mobile/manufactured home, and it was over at that point. Seems to be the trend. NO MORE MOBILE HOME FINANCING.

They called quickly, were very friendly over the phone. I started answering some questions, but hit a snag. My husband has to be on the mortgage, and we refinanced our current home less than 4 years ago. Apparently they cannot service people who have had a mortgage modification in the last 4 years. After this, the phone call was unceremoniously and abruptly ended. I understand that it's a rule, he couldn't help us, whatever. It was just quite rude.
I can't comment on Fees & Closing costs, because we didn't finance with them.

Best of the Best
I just wanted to thank Jeff Chalker for the awesome job he did in making our dreams a reality! He, and everyone involved, made yesterday's closing, one of our happiest days, and for that we are forever thankful and grateful. You can be sure that from now on, I will recommend iFreedom Direct to all my military friends (including the potential buyer for the house in NC). Jeff knows the VA application inside out, and these local lender really have no clue on how the VA Loan works. No offense to them, but they cost us more money by waiting too long to admit that they couldn't do it, and by then the interest rates increased. They also charged more in closing costs, etc. iFreedom Direct is the way for all military members to go, and I can't stress that enough.

Great experience with iFreedom
I have only good things to say about iFreedom Direct. I looked at a total of six lenders (four from LendingTree, including iFreedom). Why did I choose iFreedom? Most importantly were their fees. Their fees were significantly better than four of the other five lenders I looked at. Keeping in mind that all of these lenders have access to the same (or very similar) rates, the lower fees were a huge selling point. The second reason I chose (and would highly recommend) iFreedom was the loan officer, Travis. There was a direct line to him, so no huge phone tree, and he was very responsive both by phone and email (which is why I picked them over the competing lender that also had low fees, but were terrible at customer service). Plus, I was getting a VA loan, and that's what Travis did for a living, so he was a no-kidding expert on VA loans. The loan process went through without a hitch. There were no hidden fees at closing.
So a quick recap about iFreedom: low fees, great customer service, and no hidden fees at closing. Note that my review is entirely based on my experience getting a VA loan and dealing with one particular loan officer (Travis), so your experience might be different.
