Nov. 2-6 is National Veterans Small Business Week (NVSBW), a week honoring the accomplishments of veteran entrepreneurs and small business owners.
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and partners will host more than 100 events to honor veterans, service members, reservists and spouses. Events include Boots to Business, a Women Veterans Entrepreneur Network expo, online webinars, sessions focusing on franchising, and more. Whether you've owned a small business for years or are hoping to start your own business soon, this is the week to learn more.
National Veterans Small Business Week serves two purposes: The first is to honor veterans that have went on to own and operate a small business. The second purpose is to let service members and their families know about the different small business programs offered by the SBA. Veterans can not only receive funding for their business ventures, but can also receive technical assistance from the SBA.
How to Get Involved
This year, the White House is getting involved by showing support of NVSBW. You can get involved in the conversation around small businesses and veterans by using the hashtag #MyVetBiz on social media. Use the hashtag to share your own story, share the story of a vet you know, or to simply show your appreciation for veteran entrepreneurs.
