My tip for fellow Florida homeowners: don’t assume your home insurance covers every kind of storm damage. When comparing policies, check wind coverage and hurricane deductibles. And even if you don't live in a flood zone, consider flood insurance anyways. Inland flooding has become a major problem as storms intensify, and typical homeowners insurance almost never covers flood damage."
