Your final car insurance quote is based on factors besides the model of Kia you own. Car insurance companies also look at:

  • ZIP code
  • Driving history
  • Chosen coverage limits and deductibles

Comparing car insurance quotes is important because companies will weigh the risks of these factors differently. For example, one company may consider your driving history to be a higher risk than another company and raise your rate to offset the risk.

When comparing quotes, make sure to use the same coverage limits and deductible for each company to make sure you’re getting an accurate comparison.

Kias have a history of being a preferred target of car thieves. For a time, very few Kia models had electronic immobilizers to prevent thieves from bypassing the ignition. While Kia has taken steps since then to solve the problem, car insurance companies can still see a risk factor.

A good way to lower your rates is to make sure anti-theft devices are installed in your Kia. On top of making your car more secure, many car insurance companies offer discounts for anti-theft device installation.

Our team of insurance experts rated insurance companies based on several categories. These categories include average rates, discounts, coverage options, third-party customer service ratings and app/website experience. We weighted these categories based on what customers value in an insurance company.

For third-party customer service ratings, we included complaint index scores from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and financial strength ratings from AM Best. NAIC complaint index scores are used to determine how satisfied customers are with their claims, while financial strength ratings from AM Best reflect the ability to pay out claims.
