- How To Enter
In order to enter, each participant must link his or her account with Sponsor (a “Sponsor Account”) with participant’s account at one or more financial institutions (an “Eligible Account” and each such link, an “Eligible Link”). Only one account at a particular financial institution will constitute an Eligible Account. Accordingly, multiple accounts at the same financial institution may not be used. Links to Eligible Accounts prior to the commencement, or after the conclusion, of the Sweepstakes Period shall not constitute Eligible Links. Additional links to the same Eligible Account or other accounts with the same financial institution for which an Eligible Account was already established shall not constitute Eligible Links. Participants will automatically receive one (1) entry (each, an “Entry”) into the Sweepstakes for each Eligible Link established during the Sweepstakes Period. If, prior to the conclusion of the Sweepstakes Period, a participant unlinks or otherwise disconnects an Eligible Link, the participant’s Entry for such Eligible Link will be void. Additionally, participants may enter by sending a stamped business-size (#10) envelope with a 3×5 card with the participant’s name, address, email (if any), and phone number hand printed (also referred to herein as an “Entry”) to: LendingTree Scholarship Giveaway, 1415 Vantage Park Drive, Suite 700, Charlotte, North Carolina 28203 (the “Sweepstakes Location”). The maximum number of Entries is five (5) per participant. Method of entry does not affect the participant’s ability to win a prize. All Entries must be completed during the applicable Sweepstakes Period and all mail-in Entries must be postmarked during or prior to the Sweepstakes Period and received by Sponsor at the Sweepstakes Location on or before September 7, 2021. By completing and submitting a mail-in Entry, each participant receives one (1) entry for the drawings associated with the Sweepstakes Period. No Entry received or postmarked after a Draw Period will be eligible for the drawing relating to such Draw Period. Mail-in Entries postmarked during a Draw Period will be eligible for the related drawing if received by Sponsor prior to the drawing. - Drawing
One random drawing to select a winner will be held 10 days after the conclusion of each calendar week in the Sweepstakes Period (each such calendar week shall be referred to herein as a “Draw Period”). There will be a total of 4 drawings. The first entry drawn for each drawing will be declared the “Winner.” Sponsor will conduct the drawings. Participants need not be present to win. Each Winner will be notified in person or by phone, email, or mail within approximately 15 days of the drawing based on the information contained in such Winner’s Sponsor Account or provided in his or her Entry, as applicable. Each participant is responsible for ensuring that his or her information, as set forth in the Sponsor Account, is accurate and up to date. All qualified entries will be placed in each drawing. Odds of winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received. No person is eligible to win more than one drawing. In the event the Winner does not timely accept the prize associated with his or her drawing or is otherwise ineligible under these Rules and Regulations, Sponsor may, but shall not be required to, select an alternate Winner. - Prize
Each Winner will receive one (1) Visa gift card in the amount of $1,000.00. Income and other taxes (if any) are the sole responsibility of each Winner. The use of “Visa” or any other third party trademark in connection with this section or this Sweepstakes is solely for the purpose of describing the prize and is not intended to suggest any ownership rights, sponsorship or affiliation.
Each Winner should allow thirty (30) days from acceptance for delivery of the prize. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any prize for a prize of equal or greater value. All prizes are non-transferable and are not redeemable for cash.The failure to accept any prize within fifteen (15) days after notification shall result in a forfeiture of any prize awarded hereunder, unless otherwise determined in Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion. Use of the prize shall be subject to all terms and conditions associated with the prize, which shall be provided with the prize or made accessible in connection with the prize. The maximum retail value of all of the prizes in the Sweepstakes is $4,000. - Eligibility
The Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the U.S. residing in the 48 contiguous states and the District of Columbia 18 years or older or the age of majority in any such state if the age of majority is greater than 18. Individuals who are or were employees of Sponsor or its affiliates, manufacturers, sales representatives, subsidiaries or parent companies, advertising/sales promotion agencies, or judging organizations since December 31, 2020 and the immediate families of each are not eligible. The primary account holder of the Sponsor Account, as set forth in the Sponsor’s records, shall be deemed to be the participant. - Conditions
All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited. Sponsor shall not be responsible for any expenses incurred by participants in connection with participating in the Sweepstakes or claiming or using any prize awarded in the Sweepstakes, including, without limitation, any expenses associated using the prize. By submitting an Entry, each participant agrees to be bound by these Sweepstakes Rules and Regulations, except where and only to the extent prohibited by applicable law. Any decisions related to the Sweepstakes, the Sweepstakes Rules and Regulations, the operation of the Sweepstakes, and the qualifications and eligibility of any participant are at the sole discretion of Sponsor and are final. Each participant agrees to release and hold Sponsor and its employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, representatives, and their subsidiaries, parent companies, or other affiliated companies harmless from any and all damages, losses, claims, and liabilities arising out of his or her participation in the Sweepstakes or resulting from accepting or claiming any prize awarded hereunder. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate, suspend, or otherwise cancel the Sweepstakes at any time for any reason. Each Winner will be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release or his or her prize will be forfeited (except where prohibited by law). Participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use each Winner’s name, likeness, biographical information, photographs, and any statements or remarks made about winning or participating in the Sweepstakes for advertising and promotional purposes (in any medium) without additional compensation. Participants acknowledge and agree that Sponsor may share any and all information collected through the Sweepstakes from time to time with its subsidiaries, parent companies, or other affiliated companies. Sponsor may verify that all Winners are qualified. Entry materials become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. In no event shall Sponsor be liable for, and participant, hereby waives all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental and consequential damages of any kind. Except where prohibited, participant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the state and federal courts of Charlotte, North Carolina. Except where prohibited, the parties agree that the Sweepstakes shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina without regard to any conflict of law provisions. In connection with any claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes or any prize awarded, the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover reasonable attorneys’ fees. In the event a Winner is determined, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, to be ineligible or is otherwise disqualified from the Sweepstakes, Sponsor may, but shall not be required, to select an alternate Winner. Sponsor is not responsible for (i) lost, late, damaged, misdirected, or illegible Entries; (ii) any theft, tampering, alteration, or destruction associated with the Sweepstakes, including, without limitation, the Entries; or (iii) unsuccessful attempts to notify any Winner. Additionally, Sponsor shall not be responsible for any lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server or other connections, miscommunications, computer hardware or software malfunctions or other technical failures of any kind, ISP/network/website accessibility or availability, garbled or jumbled transmissions or other errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical or electronic, including, without limitation, the incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information regardless of cause. No person may submit an Entry on behalf of another person. Any attempt to damage or undermine the fair and legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes shall result in disqualification and may be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. - Rules and Winners List
