CHARLOTTE, N.C., January 22, 2008 – LendingTree has added six new home loan guides to its Smart Borrower Center found at https://www.lendingtree.com/articles. LendingTree is a lending marketplace committed to arming borrowers with helpful information before they begin shopping for a new home loan, meeting with lenders or making other key financial decisions.

Each guide offers borrowers objective home loan and credit information in a step-by-step format. The new guides join the LendingTree Guide to Smart Borrowing, which was created in 2005 and remains in high demand among consumers. Each of the six new guides can be individually downloaded and printed via the LendingTree Smart Borrower Guides page on LendingTree.com.

The all-new LendingTree Smart Borrower guides include:

1. Guide to Mortgages

2. Guide to Adjustable Rate Mortgages (ARMs)

3. Guide to Mortgage Refinancing

4. Guide to Home Equity Loans

5. Guide to Credit

6. Guide to Buying Your First Home

“Let’s face it, the lending process is confusing. Consumers don’t know where to turn or who to trust for objective information that helps them better understand home loans, credit and debt,” says Nicole Hall, LendingTree Smart Borrower Center editor-in-chief. “We created these six new guides so that borrowers can overcome these critical information barriers and begin on a path towards financial empowerment.”

The six new guides are an extension of the LendingTree Smart Borrower initiative that began in 2004. The cornerstone of the LendingTree financial literacy program is the Smart Borrower Center found at www.lendingtree.com/smartborrower. This Web site is an online education resource that helps navigate the often-confusing world of credit, debt and loans.
