Compare it to the American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card
The Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express and American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card are virtually identical. They both offer the same annual fees, introductory APRs on purchases and benefits, including Expanded Buying Power, car rental loss and damage insurance and extended warranty, but where they differ is in their rewards structures.
Unlike The Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express, which offers points on every purchase you make, the American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card offers cash back. Cardholders earn 2% cash back on all eligible purchases on up to $50,000 per calendar year, then 1%.
Additionally, while Membership Rewards points can be redeemed for travel, gift cards, statement credits or transferred to a number of travel partners, cash back will automatically be credited to your account as a statement credit.
With the American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card, you can earn $1,000 cash back each year if you max out the $50,000 spend cap — the same value you can earn by maxing out The Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express’s spend cap if you redeem your rewards for flights or upgrades through American Express Travel, select gift cards or NYC taxis as a statement credit.
But those same Membership Rewards points will be worth $700 with The Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express if redeemed for other types of travel, such as prepaid hotel rooms or cruises, through American Express Travel, and $600 if you use points to cover previous charges.
