Visa Infinite cards offer a plethora of benefits and can cost upwards of $500 per year in annual fees, which will make you wonder if they are worth the cost. If so, what makes them stand out among other Visa credit cards?
The highest level of credit card in the Visa network, Visa Infinite cards offer more benefits than Visa Signature and Visa Traditional cards. There are only a few Visa Infinite cards in the U.S., as they’re typically the most exclusive cards and offer the most exclusive and luxurious benefits.
Our guide explains all of the Visa Infinite benefits, but the card issuing banks determine which benefits are included with their particular card. You should double-check with your bank to see what your Visa Infinite card includes.
Visa Infinite is a type of Visa credit card reserved for the most premium credit cards, which offers the best available perks provided by Visa.
Currently, there are only a handful of Visa Infinite cards available in the United States.
Note that card issuers can control which features are available to cardholders. Therefore, it’s always best to confirm with a bank whether or not a particular perk you’re interested in is available on the Visa Infinite card you’re considering.
Visa Infinite credit cards come with added benefits beyond the card’s primary perks. However, these cards also carry a premium annual fee, making them more expensive than many other popular rewards credit cards.
Ultimately, Visa Infinite cards are only worth it if you plan to take full advantage of the added perks or travel enough that having added protections makes sense. You can find similar benefits with other credit cards. Visa Signature credit cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card may offer similar benefits for a lesser price tag.
On top of your bank-issued benefits, Visa Infinite comes with a long list of services and protections that can help you when you’re shopping or traveling. Note that your card issuer determines which benefits to include, so you’ll want to read your card’s fine print to verify your benefits.
Visa Infinite cards have a dedicated concierge service. You can call Visa Infinite Concierge services for 24/7 personalized assistance on travel planning, dinner reservations, tickets for events and experiences, gifts and floral delivery and more.
Visa Infinite cardholders can book hotels at visainfinitehotels.com. Depending on the hotel, you can get perks like:
Your Visa Infinite card offers complimentary Priority Pass™ lounge membership, giving you access to over 1,500 airport lounges worldwide.
→ Discover the best Priority Pass Credit Cards.
By booking your car rental with Avis, Hertz, National or Audi on demand, you’ll enjoy potential perks and VIP amenities like rental discounts or free weekend night benefits.
You’ll receive reimbursement for air travel fees, including checked baggage charges, in-flight purchases, accelerated airport security and more. The card issuer sets the statement credit amount.
By paying with your Visa Infinite card, you can receive up to $100 reimbursement when applying for Global Entry (which also grants you TSA PreCheck). Many card issuers also extend this credit to your TSA PreCheck application.
→ Discover the best credit cards with Global Entry and TSA PreCheck.
When paying for your eligible car rental with your Visa Signature card, you’ll receive built-in car rental insurance protecting you from theft, physical damage, reasonable and customary towing and loss-of-use charges. You’ll just need to be sure your name is listed as the primary renter on the contract, and that any additional drivers are listed.
If you pay for your nonrefundable trip with your Visa Infinite card and unexpected circumstances cause your plans to be canceled or interrupted, you can receive reimbursement for your passenger fare.
→ See the best credit cards for travel insurance
If you pay for a trip with your Visa Infinite card and it’s delayed by more than six hours — or requires an overnight stay — you can receive up to $500 per purchased ticket to cover reasonable expenses. This coverage is supplementary to any travel insurance you’ve purchased.
If you pay for a passenger ticket on a common carrier (an airline, for example) and your checked or carry-on luggage is lost or stolen, you can receive up to $3,000 per covered trip in reimbursement.
If you are missing your check bag for more than four hours, some Visa Infinite cards offer baggage delay reimbursement. You’ll get reimbursed for necessities up to $300, so your trip can get started while you wait for your bag to arrive.
In case of a roadside emergency, you can access 24/7 roadside assistance services that can provide towing, jump-starting and more. But while there’s no cost to access this benefit, you’ll be financially responsible for any services rendered.
If you’re facing an emergency when traveling, you have access to 24/7 travel and emergency assistance services that can refer you to medical, legal and other resources. There is no cost to access this benefit, though you will be financially responsible for any services rendered.
When you use your Visa Infinite card to pay for your flight, you will get Travel Accident Insurance for you, your spouse and dependent children under 23 years old.
Some Visa Infinite cards come with emergency evacuation, which means that you’ll have transportation to the closest medical facility for treatment if you become sick or injured during travel. You’ll be covered up to $10,000.
Hotel theft protection will cover any personal belongings that are stolen from your hotel room in the U.S. or Canada. This benefit is only offered with some Visa Infinite cards, so you’ll want to check your credit card terms to see if this is included.
Use your Visa Infinite card to pay your monthly cellphone bill for protection over the following calendar month. Coverage varies depending on the card issuer and requires paying a $50 deductible.
When purchasing eligible items on your Visa Infinite card, purchase security will offer a replacement, repair or reimbursement of items that are stolen or damaged up to 90 days after purchase.
→ Learn more about purchase protection.
When purchasing eligible items that come with a U.S. manufacturer’s warranty (under three years or less) with your Visa Infinite card, enjoy an additional year of coverage with the extended warranty benefit.
→ Discover more credit cards with extended warranty protection.
When purchasing eligible items on your Visa Infinite card, you can receive reimbursement on items up to $300 if your merchant does not accept a return within 90 days of purchase.
If you come across a print advertisement featuring an item you purchased with your Visa Infinite card at a lower price, you can be reimbursed the difference. Only some Visa Infinite cards come with this additional benefit so you’ll want to check with your card issuer.
If you don’t recognize charges on your Visa Infinite card, you won’t be financially responsible in the event of fraud.
In the event that your card is lost or stolen, Visa can work with your bank to make sure a replacement is shipped to you within 24 to 72 hours.
If you are in an emergency situation and need cash to use immediately, Visa can arrange a wire transfer to your local Western Union within two hours of approval from your bank.
Visa Infinite cards now come with a free Shipt membership (enrollment required) until Dec. 31, 2024. Shipt is a premium delivery service for groceries and other household essentials from popular retailers. Cardholders can enjoy free delivery on Shipt orders of $35 or more.
With your Visa Infinite card, you’ll get one free ticket per show with the purchase of one or more tickets to a Sofar show. Plus, you’ll also get unlimited access to an exclusive seven-day advance presale.
Enter your Visa Infinite card number to join Troon Golf Rewards and enjoy premium benefits at over 150 golf courses worldwide, offering discounts on golf fees and merchandise.
Enjoy BOGO tastings, discounts and preferred pricing when visiting more than 50 Visa Signature wineries in Sonoma Wine Country.
Save up to 50% when visiting attractions in more than 30 cities when you use the Go City pass. Visa Infinite cardholders enjoy an extra discount when they pay with their Visa card.
Explore a wide range of music, food and drink that appeal to your love of travel with special offers and exclusive access to experiences that reflect your interests.
There aren’t that many differences between the benefits you’ll get with Visa Infinite vs. Visa Signature. Benefits for each card type are ultimately decided at the issuer level. For example, when Chase issues a credit card with the Visa Infinite or Visa Signature branding, they decide which of the standard Visa perks will be passed on to cardholders, and may add on their own benefits. As such, a Chase Visa Infinite card may have substantially better benefits than a Chase Visa Signature card — still, Visa Signature cards can provide a whole suite of premium benefits.
The main difference between Visa Infinite and Visa Signature cards is the luxury hotel collection and concierge services, as you can see from the chart below. You may also come across more Visa Signature cards, since they’re much more common in the U.S. than Visa Infinite cards.

Only a handful of Visa Infinite cards exist. Because Infinite cards feature luxury benefits, they all have high annual fees and are geared toward high-net-worth individuals who travel often.
Cards like Chase Sapphire Reserve® and Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card are fan favorites because of their laundry-list approach to luxury travel perks. Other Visa Infinite Cards like UBS Visa Infinite Credit Card, U.S. Bank Altitude™ Reserve Visa Infinite® Card and Bank of America® Premium Rewards® Elite Credit Card may appeal to current customers of those banks who want access to premium credit card benefits.

Getting a Visa Infinite credit card is no different than getting other credit cards.
As premium credit cards, Visa Infinite cards are typically reserved for individuals with good to excellent credit. It’s always a good idea to check your credit score before applying for a card to better understand whether you fall within the issuer’s credit requirement range. Credit card companies perform a hard credit inquiry to assess an applicant’s creditworthiness during the application process. A hard credit inquiry can cause your credit score to drop temporarily.
Visa Infinite requirements vary between issuers and cards, so some may be easier to qualify for than others. But while these cards offer desirable benefits, applying is only a good idea if you think you’ll qualify for a card.
For those wanting many of the benefits of a Visa Infinite card without the steep annual fee, Visa Signature cards are a great alternative.
